View Full Version : Update to Co-Ed Sex Education...
Well I am happy to report that our voices were very well heard last night at the school board meeting and we learned alot about the deception of the Principal at our school. She LIED! She told everyone that it was School Board policy to show the videos Co-ed when in fact there was no such mandate. She told the teachers and parents that it was policy to be co-ed. Since there was no policy, we made one last night. It is now district policy to mandate sex-seperate viewings of the videos for 6th grade through 8th. My daughter and her 2 friends spoke on the issue and did wonderful and were accepted by the board in a very positive manner. However, the Superintendant and her cronies were not happy with us and accused us of not going through the proper channels on the issue. The principal "Claims" we never tried to contact her over the issue. So I got up to the podium and let them know she was contacted and like every other issue she thinks she does not have to address it nor return our calls. I even went as far since they recgonized her as "Principal of the year" last night, to tell them what a joke it was and how I have spoken with over 30 parents who have had "Serious" issues at the school and never called back or the issue addressed by the administration at the school. We won our battle and now the principal hates me even more...which I don't give a rat about. Let her hate me...but she works for my kids and they are what are important. Thank you for all of your replies and views.

Good for you. Sometimes people get away with doing a less than acceptable job because no one is willing to confront them. As for Principal of the Year, that really is sad.
I hope that she has learned from this. You can't lie to people and assume that they will just go away. Now let's see if the video is shown to the boys separate from the girls. That might be a good day to show up and observe your child's class.

RIGHT ON!! When are more people going to stand up for themselves against people in positions of authority who REALLY work for US (that includes our children)!

Congrats and Im so happy to hear that you stood your ground and said your peace.Im also glad to hear that they will have serperate classes.Keep us updated if this really happens. When will they be seeing the video?
The kids were seperated today for the first film. The boys in one room and the girls in the other. I have to say even the teachers said for the first time the kids got something from the videos. It was a very positive day. I was also told I was talk of the school today on how I blasted the principal in public. I was even asked today if I was interested in running for school board.

Yeah! What great news. I'm glad that you stood up for the kids and had your voice heard. Maybe they will see what a bad principal she is and find someone new to take her place, she's obviously not doing her job. That's so sad that parents concerns are not answered by this so called principal. :(

Good for you! WTG!
If we don't address these important issues,
our kids are the ones to suffer in the long run.
I second that you run for the school board - you'll be that principal's boss! LOL!
