Hey All!
I was wondering if any of you could give me opinions on these 2 places. We're planning our vacation this year & were going to go to Wildwood, but.....have heard that it's not too nice anymore, lot's of pick-pocketing & the like, so.....we then decided on O.C. Md, but then were told there wasn't alot to do on the boardwalk. We went to Ocean City, NJ last year & it was great, but this year dh & ds wanted to go somewhere with a "better" boardwalk, like lots of arcades, mini golf, etc.....
TIA for you ops! :)

I go to OC Md. about 8 times a year. I love it there. There is plenty of mini golf, arcades, water slides and amusements to keep the whole family busy. You can ride the bus all day for 2 bucks. It has a long boardwalk with so many shops and eateries.
This is my first post but I have been a lurker for a long time. I just happen to love OC so I had to respond.

Wildwood is still OK as far as I know - I usually go to Cape May (across the bridge from Wildwood) because I want to avoid the boardwalk & rides.
Check out Seaside NJ or Point Pleasant NJ - not as many rides but nice boardwalks.
One nice thing about Wildwood is that it isn't too far from the Cape May Zoo - which is wonderful.

Is that why you've been away? It's taken all this time to recover from the pouncing? :D

Wildwood is actually getting *nicer* this past year! The whole place is being taken over by super nice, brand new, expensive condo buildings. It's weird- looks like a completely different town. I would recommend it for kids- *such* a fun boardwalk and I've never felt in danger or anything there.

I go to seaside heights, NJ every year with hubby and the kids. My boys are age 10 and 7. They are not bored of it yet and I love it. The boardwalk is long. The just re did the water slide park. BUT the hotel there are very tiny and most are not up to date and cleaniness. We stared at the four winds for the last 10 years and never nver had a problem but they sold the place this year. We will be trying a new Hotel in seasidepark, NJ this year. All the pool are so tiny in seaside. But it works for us as I dont like to drive long drives. I live in Westchester county, Ny and it takes us 1 hr and 45 minutes where wildwood would take us baout 3 or more...I have never been to ocean county , MD but my friend went andlove it.
How about virginia beach......
good luck with our choice
let us know will ya

Are the kitties still living under the boardwalk at Seaside?? Haven't been there for years but there were abiout 50 of them that lived under there and we used to bring food for them and help refill the water bottles that were strung up for them.
