I am soooooo excited. I live in Washington Missouri, about 50 miles west of St. Louis and Town Haul is coming here! The producers are already in town and the Crew will arive at the end of May. They will be here till the end of June and they say they will do 6 projects! They are already asking for volunteers and my hubby, my daughter and myself have all signed up. I told them I am physically disabled, cannot do any heavy lifting, building etc.. but I can do things like make phone calls, organise, get coffee, lunch run etc.. and they said they need folks to do that kind of stuff so they will call me! I can't wait. I LOVE this show and watch it faithfully. The episodes will begin airing in August! So look for us on TLC!
For those of you that do not know what this show is, it stars Genevieve from Trading Spaces. Her and a crew, a contractor, a landscaper and one other guy can't remember what he does, go into small towns and "fix" them up. They get the residents to volunteer to help and they hire local services such as plumbers, electricians, etc to do the work. They renovate old buildings and spruce up the main street shops in town. In one town they built an ampitheater in the town park and in one they made an apartment in an old garage for one of the residents that was handicapped. You should have seen that place when they were done with it. BEAUTIFUL...never would guess it used to be a garage! In one place they built a farmers market, another they renovated the city hall and the firestation. It is really neat! The towns look GREAT when they are done.
I'll keep everyone updated as to how its going and what they decide to do here in town. We have some old silos sitting empty down on our riverfront and we all hope they do something with those. A teen center would be nice. We also have a very old historic theater in town and it would be nice to see that revamped. Can you tell I am VERY excited? LOL!
