hurm tough question lol

The best presents I get from my kdis are the ones that they make themselves. Last year my 23 y/o made me a fridge magent out of a creamic tile. It had her thumbprint on it and she painted a flower around it.

I know it sounds goofy, but I just love that stuff LOL

Time with my grown sons is the only thing I want anymore and I usually get it. :)

Sometimes I get a gift to. :)

Sometimes, I have to be the one to buy lunch, that's okay too. :)

:) Thanks keeping those all under suggestions, at Christmas time I took her out to lunch to her favorite mexican resturant an hour away, she normally doesnt do nice stuff for herself like that. I was thinking a microwave would be a good gift because ours is about 5 years one and on its last legs ((sometimes it works, sometimes it kinda works  )) Is that an unimaginative gift?

I got this idea from a magazine a few years back and it went over real well with my Mom.

Buy a pretty vase (I chose a nice dark blue one, it cost me under $8.00) and tie a ribbon around the neck of it. I also made a tag to attach to the ribbon that said Memory Jar or something like that. Then cut out small pieces of paper and on each one write a memory from your childhood that involves your mother. A couple of examples: I wrote on one paper about how Mom used to play the piano while we kids used to dance to the music, we had certain dances for each of the songs that she played. My sister wrote on one that she really appriciated how my Mom was there for her when she first went off to college and called home crying, missing her family.

If you have siblings try to get everyone to write out as many as they can think of & fill the vase with them. My Mom loved hers. Oh, and Mom is allowed to read one paper a day so it will last a long time too.

I'm sure whatever you chose to get your Mom, she will love it because it is from you.

I love that. When you get older you have everything and they couldn't get you anything else. I would love my kids to "walk fur the cure" Breast Cancer Race for the Cure which I do every mother's day. I also would like lunch or dinner with my kids.

For mother's day each year mom and I usually leave my kids with DH and go to town for the city wide garage sale. We live in a small town and a big part of the town participates in the sale(lots of houses out in the surrounding country do too). The fire station has a mondo smoker set up and they sell ribs. The local businesses have sidewalk sales and there are other things going on in town too. We both have fun and it's usually a cheap day(except the year I found my kitcher table and chairs.  ;) :D 0

I'm going to my mom's next weekend so we can go to their local Relay For Life with her. We went a couple of years ago and it was held on Mother's Day weekend, but they're having it earlier this year.
For her gift... i was going to buy her stuff to redo her bedroom, but she's currently sleeping in a hospital bed, so I'll find her something related to hummingbirds.

As far as what DD can get me....either something to go in the yard, a faerie, or my newest obsession....Lefton bluebirds.

I have to say my favorite gifts from my girls both include their finger or thumb prints. One is a lady bug made from a thumb print and the other is a girl singing, her head is the finger print.

The vase idea sounds great!

Fatesfaery... I have never heard of Lefton bluebirds and had to look them up... they are so cute! Hey are you still working for West??

I usually get flowers and cards, bought by my DH, from our small children.
Once you marry and have kids, Mother's Day and Father's day should be about your spouse, first. We will usually see his mom the week or day before and my mom lives out of state, so we send something to her. When my sons are grown and if they marry and have kids, I expect their wives to come before me.

When i was a teenager, i heard this song as i was walking down the street with my friends, and i stopped and listened to it and ran in the store and bought it. When i got home i played it on my mothers stereo, and told my mother, "mama, this is how i will always feel about you, here is your mother's day gift." It was the song: I'll Always Love My Mama. My mother cried, hugged me and kissed me. If there is a song that reminds you of someone, why not give it to them. Or maybe a few songs on tape or cd. I'm going to do this to my best friend, Anna.

One year I bought a big terracotta flower pot and had my kids put their had prints on it in paint and then I put clear coat on it we had also wrote happy mother's day 200? and then they helped me plant flowers in it. So my mom got a flower pot planted by her DD and her grandchildren. If they love plants and flowers that is always a good one. Or go buy her some kind of flowering bush and let her plant it in her yard. Whenever she goes outside and sees the flowers etc. she will think of you. And it doesn't die it just gets bugger, like your love for her..Ahhhh! ;) :D

One year the five of us got together & bought Mom a rose for each year she had been a mom (40 or 50 something) & had a nice dinner. There were flowers all through the house, gifts, & she had all of us at the same time for dinner. She really enjoyed that day.
This year, I'll take them to the cemetery.

As for me, I love anything the boys give me. I have a lot of homemade cards stashed away & still enjoy getting them out & looking at them, even though my boys are now 29, 26 & 19. Mothers just want to know they are loved & thought of for the most part. I'm sure anything you do will make her happy.
