We've had the wet toilet seat talk on here before and how we have to wipe before sitting dowm because so many women pee on the toilet. Well I found another reason the seat is wet. I waited for the toilet to flush and when it did it threw water up onto the seat. Those public toilets have a fast flush and it throws water all around. I had to jump back. So now I have to wait and clean the seat off after I go, Geesh. Just a warning for those who leave thinking they left the toilet dry.
I've seen only one public toilet that has sanitary wipes in the back of the toilet so one could wipe the seat off before sitting down. Maybe all should have them.

I rarely ever use a public bathroom. Unless I have to pee so bad I'm about to burst.

I noticed the same thing on Monday, so now I am always checking the seat because I don't want people thinking that I peed all over it.

Wal*Mart bathrooms are complete and utter filth. Our WM is about 10 years old and I think the last time they cleaned it was opening day--I kid you not. :(

I never sit on public toilets, EWWWWW. I will squat and hover over the toilet if I have to go that bad.

This is what my mom taught me to do. haha No sitting on nasty toilet seats for me. I was shocked to learn that people actually sat on toilets seats. I always thought people squatted for the longest time.

Same here, and I still use the sanitary covers or tp to cover the seat.

EEEEWWWW. I hate walmart bathrooms, I NEVER pee in public anymore lol. I hate it when you're washing your hands and someone flushes and just walks right out. Its so gross. I keep a paper towel in my hand so I dont have to touch the disgusting handles on the doors. I thought most people squatted too, people actually sit on those things???

LOL, it's you squatters that pee on the seats. At least at other public toilets until I saw Wallmarts throwing water up on the seats. Wipe and then SIT DOWN. I don't know of any disease you can catch from a dry toilet seat. Wipe off and make sure it's clean where you are going to sit--even in the front part and then SIT DOWN. Don't splash.
It's ok when you are young and can squat and or hold it until you get home but after the age or 40 or so it gets harder. And when we really have to go fast it's even harder. LOL
I've tried the paper on the toilet. Doesn't work---I turn around and it falls on the floor. Have pity on us older folk. I'm reasonably fit now and I cringe to think how it will be when I can't move very fast. :D

i'm a squatter. it's not really the pee you gotta worry about, it's the other body fluids. crabs is a definate for sure toilet picker upper, less likely but conceivable are herpes, gonnorhea, hepatitis, staph. ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS ;)

Boy, thats me too. I avoid Mal-mart toilets at all cost. Years ago I went in to use it and when I reached in to get toilet paper(these units were covered and you couldn't see into them)I grabbed ahold of a bloody pad. Some a** had put it up inside the unit.GROSS ME OUT!!!! The bad part(yeah there's more)is I chew my cuticules and so they were raw and I had to go thru the aids test. My dr. said better to be safe than sorry. I tested at 6months and then again at one year. Talk about scared sh*tless. Thank god it turned out okay but I still think about that and I don't use those restrooms.

OMG that is so scary! The restroom at the drive in near my house is SO DISGUSTING girls will stick bloody pads on the walls and write stuff on the walls with their own, you know. Its awful! I don't know what kind of female is THAT disgusting. At least I'm not alone in being anal about bathrooms. (I dont sprinkle, I make sure of that, I guess I'm still young yet I aim ok!) We need those revolving seats that when you flush go into the wall and get washed.

I think the stores all need to get a copy of "To Sir With Love" and have it playing in each restroom in the land.  :D
For those who haven't seen it, get a copy and watch it. LOL

No offense of course, but I'm thinking it might be the region you all live in? Here at my Super Wal-Mart most of the time they are CLOSED for CLEANING the bathroom and trust me, they get PISSED (hehehe) if you try to go in there when it's being cleaned.
Now, Super K-Mart... that's another story... ;)

I don't shop at our walmart here, but have been in plenty of nasty public toilets here.
I don't use them unless I have to. Lysol and clorox makes antibacterial wipes. They come in a big round plastic container. I take them out of the container and keep about 10 of them in a ziplock baggie in my purse. Not just for bathrooms.. but you just never know lol.
Lysol has also started making small (about 4" tall) bottles of their disinfectant spray... which I also keep one in my purse... along with a tiny bottle of antibacterial hand wash.
I am a tad freaky about touching things in public places. (I got that way after watching some lady scratch her butt from INSIDE her pants, then proceed to touch and smell different candles at target) Its all I can to to wait until I am outside of a store before I break out the handwash LOL One of my girlfriends calls me Monk.... I actually had to watch the show to know what that was about, but to be honest I am like that guy LOL DH thinks I have OCD... I think I am just being safe :D

I usually go to the one in the back of the store. The front is usually the worst. I always wipe and if it seems pretty dry I just use a lining but if it seems grosser i use the lining plus another lining of toilet paper. I never started doing that till I actually sat on someones piss :-x Than I was totally grossed out and always line now. I think the squatters who are really phobic are the ones who actually cause all the messes on the seats lol Like I've tried squatting before if it's really awful to begin with and it's always made a mess regardless of how far or close I was?

And if you squat you only end up splashing the water up on you anyway so why do it? I do not know what one can catch off a dry seat only a wet one.
The worse I ever had was one seat in a public toilet started to flush while I was still sitting on it. Talk about gross. Splashing up on me. Yuck

I refuse to read this thread on account of getting grossed out, but I must say, never, ever, use a public bathroom. Never, ever, ever, use a field, use a car door, use a tree stump, but never ever use a public bathroom!

LOL, I would look pretty funny using the bush out front of Wallmart. I'd also get arrested. When nature calls and is calling fast you are in dire straits. But I have also had to use outhouses and park restrooms so I have seen worse.

FIRST THING MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME IN APUBLIC RESTROOM''DON'T SIT DOWN'' unless necessary then put alot of paper on seat-I have a friend who takes paper towels and scrubs the seat-I've taught my kids to do the same-I see little children let to go into stall by themselves touch the seat with their hands-I don't know why their mothers think that's allright-I bite my tongue not to say anything. Maybe I should?
