I haven't posted about office mgr for a while, so hopefully you guys aren't sick of hearing me whine about her! She rolls in today at the crack of dawn (10:30 LOL) and sees me filling the coffee pot with water from the water cooler to make a pot of coffee. As she is slurpping down her $4.00 double mocha soy latte from Starbucks, she says "don't you think the coffee would taste just as good with tap water'? For Pete's sake - how much could the 5 gallon jug of water cost - $6.00??!! Take about CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Since at my work we all contribute to the "water fund" and only two of us (ok, two of them) drink coffee, a stop was put to them making coffee with the bottled water. It just didnt seem fair.
What Im saying is, if they are paying for the bottled water, they kinda have a say in how it is used. But, yeah, if she is drinking $4 cups from Starbucks, then she needs to get a grip.

I think tap water is fine. That's what we use at home. We also have a bottled water thing in the house for hot, warm or cold water knobs. We wouldn't care who uses any of the water for anything but it's only family. In an office, I think the company buys the water whether you drink it in a cup with caffeine or just plain shouldn't matter. And if you come waltzing in with expensive latte' that is your business but then keep your comments to yourself. I think this is one of those situations where "no comment" is the best thing in a group setting/office/breakroom.

I think it depends on where you live - here the tap water is fine, but if you live in the Greater New Orleans area the tap water is flat nasty ! Smells like sulpher and tastes worse - flavors anything you make with it - coffee, tea or koolaid. Does it realy matter if they are drinking the water "straight" or filtered thru the coffee grinds ??

Ummm... like nana said, you're drinking the water one way or the other, who cares if its straight or in coffee? Whats next, you guys have to drink out of the taps? Lol

The tap water here is nasty so they make coffee from the bottled water at work. Yes, you can tell the difference. Also my hubby fills up his water bottle from the bottled water. He doesn't take a case of his own bottled water to the office. But the workers do have to get their sodas out of the machine and pay for it even though they have sodas in the break room. That is for the docs and their kids.
But if you work at a doc's office you get the perk of drug reps bringing in lunch quite frequently and that can be nice.

Jolie...I agree...New Orleans has nasty, nasty water....and Metro Atlanta's isn't much better. I use filtered water for everything...my critters drink filtered water.
What's the difference in drinking water from the water cooler and drinking coffee made from it?

Maybe the difference is that not everyone drinks coffee. I dont know. I know at my work that is why they stopped making coffee with the bottled water we all contributed to buy.
