I received this magazine yesterday and this pic was on the cover. So do you think this is cute or slutty for a young girl? This magazine is for young girls I'm guessing. I'm 58 and it's not geared towards me, that's for sure.

The magazine is Body Central. Go to www.bodyc.com

Why do girls dress like "'I'm accessible"? Shirt undone up to there and skirt up to there. Like they are ready for action.

The top looks like it could be worn as sleepwear. It's cute but I don't think it's appropriate for a teenager to wear. If I had a teenage daughter I would not allow her to wear a camisole as outer wear. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I wouldn't want my kid to be targeted by a pedophile.

But just go into any store now that has the Spring and Summer clothes and see all the camisoles being sold for outer wear. Pair it with a pair of raggy cut up to the crotch jeans and you are good to go. Go to what I want to know.

Well....

The mag in question is actually geared towards young women, in the 25-35 age range, so what they show is appropriate. Nothing wrong with sexuallity.

No, as far as young teens go, no this may not bee appropriate, but my 17 year old does wear camisoles to dress up in , and looks very nice. It is still respectable. Really, I see nothing wrong with any of the pictures because they are women, not young girls.

Well young women should know better. Guess it's sex pot on the make for a man clothes. LOL And these kind of clothes are being sold in the Junior departments of stores so it's geared toward the teens in the stores.

i think the outfits are cute
but for ladies in there 20s and not appropraite for teens

Gotta laugh here - my 17 year old dd is FAR from a sex pot - in fact, she attends a prestigious college prep school which so happens to be alll girls. She does have the opportunities to dress up for dances at other schools, dinner theaters, balls and the such. This is still appropriate for her as she knows HOW to wear such items without being sleezy (she does own strapless bras and other underthings required to be classy, not trashy).
As far as it being available in the Jrs. departments, well, the only thing I can do about that is not buy the items if they are over the top. Heck, I just bought her 2 camisoles, a skirt, and a pair of slacks which can all be mixed and matched so that she would have some nice Spring/Summer outfits for the socials that are coming up. I guess the issue here would be WHO the items are appropriate for. A tween or young teen, no. But for a young lady or woman in her 20's to 30's or even more if they can pull it off, why not? As long as where they wear the items is appropriate as well.

I think they are all cute! I think any of them would be fine for a teen. More than that is showing when they go to the beach.

These all look like they are for the beach---at least that is the background in the pics but girls will wear they everywhere.

They do have some pretty and cute clothes but some are pretty revealing.

I personally think the first top is very pretty.

The only thing trampy looking is maybe the second top (the pink one)

I wouldn't be caught dead in it!

I love all the shirt's I think they are very cute and that is the style now.. If I had a teen I would let her wear them aslong as nothing was showing.. I even wear things like that but than again I have the body for it..

"juniors" is a size range, not age. I'm 41 and I wear either a 3 or 5 in juniors. So just because they're in the juniors dept. doesn't mean they are geared toward teens.

I would wear those outfits for work even, except the pink one, I'd save that one for the weekend. :) So I'm glad the Juniors dept is full of clothes like that. And if you have a young teen wanting to wear those things, it's up to the parent to decide, not the public.

I love all the outfits. Before I had children I wore shirts just like that pink one, probably would only wear that one in the bedroom now LOL! :)

But I would wear all the other ones everyday. But I probably would not let my young daughter wear them.

Personally I think the outfits are cute. They are showing a little skin, but it's not any worse than what you see girls wearing on the street these days. I think the idea of showing skin has gotten a bit less offensive. As long as it's tasteful. Plus it's just the trend. I say if you are fit and healthy then show it. It is how you present yourself while in these clothes that distinguish you from lady or slutty!

actually they are geared toward teens, both styles and sizes. juniors clothes are actually youth sized with a different name. i can still wear juniors sizes, and that is after my surgery (which made me gain weight). i am only 20 though, that might have something to do with it.

Well I do know if you show up to work in these they will send you home. My hubby has had to tell some young women that is not appropriate dress for the office. Low cut with cleavage showing,

Also some women have not even been hired cause they come in for the interview in skimpy clothes. The woman doing the interview was offended. Even sloppy jeans or any jeans will ruin your chances in getting a job in some places like a doc's office.

And this is not discrimination since they do the same with boys or men who come in too casual.

Juniors sizes are usually geared toward women who are about 5'2" to 5'5" in height without shoes, with a slender to med. build.

Misses: about 5'5" to 5'6" (1.65 to 1.68 m) tall, with a med to large build.

Miss Petite: under 5'4" (1.63 m) tall. The back neck to waist measurement for the Miss Petite figure is 1" shorter than the Misses measurement.

Women's: about 5'5" to 5'6" (1.65 to 1.68 m) tall. A larger, more fully mature female figure.

Women's Petite: under 5'4" (1.63 m) tall, with a larger, more fully mature female figure.

Ok, I'll throw my 2 cents in here. I'm 30, but I could pass for very early 20's. I shop in the jrs. dept., as do both of my sisters, who are 38 and 40 yrs. old. So, I don't feel the jrs. dept. is geared toward teens. Women's or misses clothes make me look frumpy or like I'm playing "dress up" with someone else's clothes (I'm 5'2"). The clothing shown is cute, but I feel appropriate for ages 18 and up. And also, not for work. The whole dot-com boom really ruined people's views of what is and is not work-appropriate attire. Mind you, the employers still know what their looking for, so the real loser is the job hunter. I don't think many parents take enough interest in their children's lives, and as long as they still live at home, the parent should be able to veto the outfit. Also, I believe a person should get their first job in their teens, and parents should guide them in how to dress and behave. I beleive you should go to an interview in a suit, even if its for Burger King. No exceptions. So, no I'm not offended by the clothing, I might even order a catalog! My idea of sleazy clothing is from Frederick's of Hollywood.

Hmmm I wear tight jeans and I'm far from a HO just becuase you wear tight jeans does NOT make you a HO.. It's how you present yourself..
