Hi everyone!

I just found this on the web and thought that I would post it. It's about Joe and the docudrama that the Discovery Channel did on our case. I know that no one got to see it since they moved the date up on us to the 5th from the 19th of last month. I didn't find out in time to let anyone know and I barely found out in time to watch it!!!

The good news is that we are expecting a ruling by the end of this month!!! We've only been waiting since July! We just got the letter from the lawyers Tuesday telling us that they are pretty sure that it will come by the end of the month! I'm so excited that I don't know how I will get any sleep this month!!!

Anyway, here is what one site had to say about the docudrama:Professor Joseph Bodine

On Saturday, February 5, 2005, the Discovery Channel aired Guilty or Innocent, a program that profiled Joe D’Ambrosio, an inmate on Ohio’s death row.

D’Ambrosio was charged in the murder of Anthony (Tony) Klann in 1988. In 2000, it was discovered by officials that Tony Klann was the only witness to a rape allegedly committed by Paul Lewis; Lewis gave key testimony used to convict D’Ambrosio. The Ohio public defender’s office then presented enough material to support D’Ambrosio’s innocence for U.S. District Judge Kate O’Malley to order a review of all the evidence.

Joseph Bodine, formerly with the Ohio Public Defender’s Office, led the investigation into D’Ambrosio’s innocence and presented all the evidence in federal court. Bodine is a Legal Writing Professor at Capital University Law School. He also teaches the seminar, “Selected Issues in Criminal Defense.” While with the Public Defender’s Office, Bodine worked on death penalty cases.

During the course of his investigation, Bodine’s Capital law students helped with the case and made important factual observations which were included in Bodine’s briefing. The program, Guilty or Innocent, originally contained a scene portraying Bodine and his students. Although the scene did not make it into the final version, Bodine and Capital University Law School are thanked in the credits for their role in the production of the program.

“Judge Kate O’Malley has not yet ruled on the case, but we are expecting a decision in March,” said Bodine. “If anything good comes of the case, Capital students will have played a major role in developing the evidence that might prove Joe innocent. He’s been on death row for 17 years.”

Have a great weekend!!!!
