OK, I've just about had it with this place. We went commissary shopping, and decided to use the drive thru for lunch, as little DD was home alone (she's 12). Mind you , the choices here are rather limited, and we are fairly rural, so this was the quickest for us - McD's, Wendy's. That's our other choices because the other two places make us all sick. Well any how....
The drive thru is a bit on the busy side, after all it was 11:30. We ordered three meals, one with onion rings, one sandwich without the lettuce and tomato, and the three drinks to go with the meals. We get to the window, pay the little boy, and he tries to hand the drinks into the car. DH asks for a drink holder. The boys response "But you only have three drinks, and the holders hol two apiece." OK bub, you're not off to a good start....
He hands us the bag of food, and after past experiences with them, I check the bag - there is only two fries and two sandwiches. DH tells him, "WWe're missing a sandwich and onion rings.". His response "Which sandwich?".
So then, I have to dig through the teeny tiny bag all this food is in and get to the bottom for the sandwiches. We tell him, and he gets another bag with a sandwich and onion rings...... Wrong chicken sandwich - we ordered the tender crisp bacon ranch, and he hands us the crappy long processed chicken. So I give the sandwich back and ask for the correct one. Little boy's response is "step in side you're holding up my drive thru." HELLO???????????? WE are using the drive thru.
DH tells him, give me the right sandwich. Little boy says "move out of the way, you're holding up my window." DH tells him to give him the right order.
At this point, little boy says to "talk to his manager he didn't care."......
So we did. Had to pull around to the other side of the building, go in, talk to the manager, and he blessed us with fresh fries and onion rings, and the right sandwich, states he'll deal with little boy after the rush.(Yeah, right, sure you will)....
We get home at 12:30. DD gets her sandwich, and guess what - they screwed it up!!! No cheese, no bacon, just sauce. DUMB BUTTS!
I hope someone from that place reads this and realizes what idiots they are.....   Just because it isn't the best place to work does not mean screw people over because you're miserable....

People just don't care. Managers at those kind of places are usually happy to have their employees just show up. The kids that work at our fast food restaurants in my area have the worst attitudes and can't seem to get a thing right. We used to be affraid a bad work record would follow us... they know for the most part employers cannot give poor references and frankly don't care anyway. Sorry you were so irritated.

I personally would call their corporate office and complain.
My DH hates going places with me to eat because if it is not the way I ordered it I complain.
If I am paying for it , it should be made the way I asked for it. I don't care if it bothers them or not. I do not pay my good money for wrongly made sandwiches or cold french fries. JMO

they guy at the window wasn't at fault. the person at the window on hands out food, and depending on the store set up, they might handle the money. someone else bags the food. they hand out the bags in the order they get them. they aren't supposed to check the bags, the bagger is. and most places will tell you to pull around and come in if your order is messed up really badly. they have to get each car through drive through in a certain number of minutes. it's 3 here.

Maybe so but IMO the kid at the window was out of line for being rude. He obviously needs better customer service training.

My husband was in restaurant management for a number of years. If a problem can't be corrected with the manager on duty or the general manager, get in touch with a corporate/district manager. Corporate managers don't like to receive complaints & they will investigate the complaint.

THat is too bad, I wouldn't have moved. I've done this at Wendys when they had NO FRIES at noon. Hello, maybe some people like fries during lunch hour?? Well they asked me to pull up until the fries were done for their customer service rating but I just sat right there! Ticked them off I can tell you! If you get crappy customer service at a drive up window sit there, it'll bring down their customer service score. BTW I never go to Burger King or McDonalds because they are absolutely horrid, Wendys is pretty good.

I'm here near Wrightstown, so going to the opposite side of the base would have been out of the question. We tried not to move, but these people are so quick to call the MP's, and this is really not something you want trouble over with the military, so we drove around. But you know what, I will call the corporate office, as well as AAFES (they are who runs it on base) and file numerous cmplaints.
We try to be understanding, but after months off, we decided to try them again, and look what happens. Last time they ROYALLY screwed up the order, and nothing was what we ordered.
I understand that the drive thru is supposed to be quick turn over, but being deliberately rude was uncalled for even during a rushed period. There are alot of other people that would be glad for the opportunity to even have a job, and here's this cocky little kid...
Gotta stop before I say something to get me chastised by the mods. :) Anyhow, this just plain should not have happened.

he wasn't trying to be rude. the questions he asked were appropriate, since he had no idea what was in the bag as i said in my last post. even if he did, he can't read minds. at every restaurant i've worked at, they tell you in training to have people pull away from drive-through to wait on fries or whatever if it is going to be more than a few minutes. i can't believe some people are complaining about that. if you were behing someone else waiting, you'd want them to pull up. it's not like you have to get out of your car, they come to you.

I usually don't have a problem pulling away and waiting, its just when you get a heck of an attitude and all kinds of crap from the person at the window that I won't pull up and wait. I have never had them come to me when they had me pull over, they call me back over to the window and I have to drive around again, its a mess lol. I'm usually VERY sweet to retail and fast food workers as I know its a stressful job, but sometimes they just get too nasty. JMO!

I see your problem. You were at a BK on a military base. All the ones I've ever been to were horrible. Dirty tables, rude employees, etc. I had a bad experience at the one at Fort Huachuca last year. The manager was even rude. I complained to the corporate office but nothing was done about it. Oh and have you ever heard of a burger place running out of burgers? It happened constantly when we were stationed in Germany.

Yes, really, he WAS trying to be rude. He took the order, he bagged the order, he knew full well he screwed up, and he did not care. We're in a small rinky dink town here, the kid was an obnoxious jerk. Now, pulling around may not seem like too big of a deal here, but mind you, it WAS. In order to "pull up and step inside", we have to make a left onto the road again, and make another left into the parking lot, as there is only one exit/entrance. We told him exactly what was missing, and he argued that it was all there. Then he wants US to come inside????? Hello  ????????? We used the drive thru for a reason. We were not being unreasonable by asking that he give us the correct order - he was being unreasonable with his rotten attitude and shoddy service.
Either way, I called corporate and demanded a refund. Now I shall call AAFES and file a complaint with them.

Its not his fault?? YES IT IS. I was a swing manager for Mcdonald's for 4 years and it IS his fault. He is responsible for making sure the order he HANDS out is complete and CORRECT. He has a screen RIGHT there at his window that has all of his orders on it. And as for you having to "come in" to get it all corrected... what a load of crock. We had spaces at all 5 stores (I worked at 3 of them at different times) where they could pull forward and wait IN THE CAR. I'd be pulling that kid aside right away and giving him a "severe talking to" and disciplinary action would take place by the head manager.

you can not expect people to be 100 % nice if you are screaming at him becuase of someone elses mistake. if he asks you to move because other people are waiting, go inside and talk to the manager. If you do not have time, make sure you know the persons name and then call the manager when you get a chance. by waiting there, all you do i s make everyone else ticked off. these kids work for min wage and work alot and it is stressful. too stressful and too much work for such little pay. Yes alot of them dont care, they are just there for the paycheck, but others actually need the job to make a living. so next time you are in a restuaunt, even one with dine in and carryout. think of the crap some of these people go through every day at there jobs, just because they have to. All they want is for their customers to be nice to them! Besides, even if he would go and fix the problem himself, before you got the burgers, you would have had to wait, and im sure you prob would have yelled at him for that too, so either way it does not seem like you would have been happy

No need to be rude. I guess you don't mind paying for poor service. I spent several years as a manager in different fast food places and the drive thru person was always responsible for making sure the order he/she was handing out was correct. Whether they work for minimum wage or not is not an excuse for them to be rude or to hand out wrong orders. I realize mistakes do happen but it should be corrected in a polite manner. After all the customer is usually right IMO they are the ones paying for it. It should be done correctly or remedied in a polite manner.

I dont like crappy service, but the customer is not right by yelling at the person. That is rude. And im not saying they can be rude because of their pay, but you have to take in consideration you should nicely tell them that the order is wrong and do not assume that it was that persons fault. these places are run by many peiople, not just the one who gives you the food. I work at a restuarant and too many people complain for stupid reasons, and have fits about little things when they could just say hey thing is wrong. I know at my place we have to apologize and then make them happy by giving them the correct thing. But the complaints do not always go to the right person. So im sayign dont flip out, be nice and they will be nice.

Apparently I am the only one here who knows what this town is like. All the fast food places in this town have little kids who work there who dont give a crap about anyone.I worked at Wendys and Taco Bell in this town and never got respect from these little kids.Dont even get me started on KFC and Taco Bell.At KFC the service is lousey and the ppl who work there stand around and do nothing while one poor person makes all the food(which is why I started going to the KFC by Great Adventure).I remember when I went to Taco Bell one time years after I quit and the kid messed up my order not once but twice. The only time the place was decent and I never had problems was when the owners son was working. We know each other really well and he always made sure my order was right.I know how hard it is to work in these places but always treated the customers with respect. So please dont pass judgment on this person unless you have been to this town and experianced this for yourself.

My town is really pretty good with fast food restaurants. A bit slow but always nice. Out of all fairness its due to the Mexican population. Seems to me that the American teenager is nothing but a spoiled brat. The Mexicans around here are workers and they want and need their jobs. Its a shame that the Mexicans have to work so hard for so little and get no respect. Though it is a bit aggravating that they do not speak fluent english, they always try and are always nice and polite. I know it is very aggravating to go out to eat or drive thru and they mess up your food, totally ticks me off. Good Luck and keep calling and calling until someone does something.

For the record - my DH and I were not rude in the least bit, nor were we behaving in an unreasonable manner. DH did raise his voice an octave when the kid said he didn't care, but that was it. Like Tammy and I have stated, this is a rinky dink town. Why in the world would we use a drive thru only to be expected to drive around AGAIN and have to go inside?? Also - these kids are making more by the hour than I make at a salaried position. Yep, that's right - they START at $8.50 and hour, with some benefits. So why shouldn't they be expected to do the best that they can, at whatever job they have. That's just plain comman sense, and it gets a person everywhere in today's job force. It's obvious the kid has alot to learn, or he will get nowhere fast.
Also for the record, as I stated, pulling aside would not have been a problem had there been a place to pull aside to, and if the jerk had any intentions of bringing the correct order to us. The ONLY door was on the opposite side of the building, and NO room to pull aside to wait for others to pass us. We were forced to make a left onto the road, and make another left to get BACK INTO the parking lot where the door was located. We were using the drive thru for the reason it was intended for - fast service, which ended up taking 45 minutes.....

Like I said, we never yelled - we stated the facts, and asked for the correct order. We never talked rudely to him. What pissed us off was HIS attitude, HIS rotten service, and getting the WRONG order even after the inconvenience HE caused US.
