Soldiers package

I am so upset! :( Our church donated items to be shipped to 2 soldiers. Needless to say I went and picked up the stuff and went to the post office and shipped them. They were shipped from the post office Nov. 23,2004. Well guess what I got one back today almost 3 months later! :eek: The package said something bout the address wrong. I will say that I may have wrote it down wrong, because I mailed them 3 days after my moms death. The part that makes me mad is that I put on it to go to any soldier just in case the other soldier was already gone. So why did they have to send it back home to us. This package looked like it had went thru war itself, it was such a mess. Our kids from school made them pictures for Thanksgiving, we sent a Christmas card from our church and a Christmas card from the deer hunters that stop at my mil. So now what do I do? The package wondered around so long that the items look rough. How come the post offices couldn't just send it on to another soldier? It plainly said ANY SOLDIER in the spot where it said in case of nondelivery redirect to address below and it said any soldier female. Just makes me mad. They go over there and fight for us and we can't even get a package sent to them.

If it were me, I'd be emailing my story to someone at the local news station. or paper.

Because of security measures since September 11, 2001 they ( military post office ) will NO longer deliver to "any soldier". I am saying this because as of Feb 28, 2005 I will be retired from the military and that was told to me when working security.

I can understand that but how come they don't tell you that when you ship the packages out. That way you can put another address in the other box. It just agrraviates me that they can risk there lives to save us and we can't even get a small package of goodies to them. :confused:

wow..you can't just send a RAOK, to the military..I feel sad just thinking of it.some kid out there would really like this..what is this world coming too?

Hi, please dont be discouraged if your first attempt failed, our men and women DO need our help, I did some research on where ppl can send items/packages to the man and women of our troops

I think that it is wonderful that you keep the men and women in your heart and in your mind, you would be suprised how ppl are going without because it is not available over there. I also wanted to know if someone could help me find a link on how I can foster a family that has men/women overseas, send them cards/emails etc, I dont know if this is possible? Someone let me know plz :confused:

we sent 2 from the church,which one came back to june, and we sent 9 from our school,hopefully the rest of them got to the place it was suppose to. I know one did because we got a letter back from him at the school.....we are alittle town so there is no local tv station to broadcast this on...i seen where a lady started a site and has an address to ship to so if june and the rest want to we might just ship it to her and put it in with the stuff she will be shipping who knows right now what will be done....lol..but i am sure it will be sent back out,if it is any kind of shape to be sent back out....lol....
