I am a little nervous. I put my application in at a local park dist. I have my interview on Friday. I have been told that I already have the job (long story)....I just have to clear up the formalities. At any rate, I will probably be starting next week or the following Monday. I am honestly VERY nervous. I have 3 kids. Oldest is in 3rd grade, a 1st grader and a preschooler. THere is an after school program in the building (I only have to pay 1/3). THe job is for 20 hours a week. (Tues wed, thrus)...great environment, activities are coverd for my kids. hours are from 9-430...so, WHY AM I SO SCARED???

Congrats! That is so awesome! You will glide right back into it - no sweat! No job is as hard as having three kids! It will be nice to have other grown ups to talk to, huh?

I am also a SAHM, and I CANNOT find a job. And I am in Dallas! I always leave interviews with a good feeling, but they never call. When I call them, they always tell me the same things: job has been filled, you are overqualified, we need someone with more experience etc. I am beginning to think it is the SAHM thing. I am sure they can't tell me that - if that it's - because that would be discrimination. But I wish they would be honest with me, ya know?

Yes, I understand. This job is sort of, well, they asked me to do it. I have been heavily involved voluteering as a commissioner for our town in planning our town fest. They need assistance in grant writing /research and special events. SO, the woman who runs the park district asked me to make a resume and come in for an interview tomorrow. I will start next week. Just nervous, you know...sort of feeling guilty. Ugh....

Dh supports it, as this will make enough for my car payment, so i am taking the burdon off. Just putting the info down on paper after almost 10 years is difficult!

change is always scary but you'll get the hang of it. i think a part time job is great for you and it's cool that the kids get an after school program they can participate in. i hope it all works out

I think it is good for the kids too. And it is only part time - you will still have time to spend with them.

I worked at a church so my DD could attend their preschool (and I could be close LOL!)
