Ft. Bragg is less than 2 hours from home. He took one of the family cars with him so he can come home on weekends. He hasn't been assigned anything yet but if they do it will be as a platoon leader. He has a military doctor appt. tomorrow at 1 pm and I'm sure it's the first of many to come. The military just has so many rules and forms. He has gone to some civilian eye specialist and they have declared him blind in the right eye. We are hoping he can come home soon for good. Otherwise when his unit comes back to the state the end of March! He also got a promotion and will get pinned at the homecoming when the unit comes back.

I've posted where he bangs into walls, goes to pour milk and misses the glass, tries to set things down and misses the table or counter, drops the soap in the shower and looses it if it lands on his right side. Then we hear him laugh and know he is OK. Laughter is the best medicine.

Thanks for asking about Mur cat. Did you try to make the fudge recipe I gave you?

well NANA, Mur has done more than an HONEST job keeping the people of Iraq safe and defending the US idea of democracy, I hope he is OK..and will remain so..I am happy he unit is coming back, BOY can you say "PARTY"..I am sure a "HEY YA"..ditty and if I were them..a Micheal Jackson.."Shake your Booty ON TO THE GROUND", the U.S.A. SOIL type..no, I needed the recipe for a client, that was so kind of Bell and you to help, this isn't my forte' and I am not the maker of "fudge"..but I am so sure 2 ideas will be well recieved..is it OK that Mur is driving with ONE good eye, I really want him to be SAFE, is all..he has done his share..

Ya we will party when the unit comes home. A few of them will come here but there will be NO NO NO Michael Jackson stuff. Lots of Outkast, Black Eyed Peas, Cheryl Crowe, lots of music from the 80's. That's when many of Mur's buddies first met in boot camp. Come on over. Ya never know. Might meet Mr. Right ;) Can you say PAR - TEEEEE - P A R T Y- party, party :D

Way cool. I'll bet she will cherish it always. What branch of the military is he? And where is he stationed or can't you say at this time? Wishing for a safe return to the good old USA :)

Just like Mur. He was in the Army many years ago and then kept re-enlisting in the Reserves. He was in the process of mustering out of the Army for good. Just before his paperwork was completed, he got called up full time with the Army. Now that his eye is blind he will be getting a medcial discharge and to say the least, he's very disappointed. He was hoping his eye would heal and he could go back and join his unit, his buddies.
