Butter Cookies preheat oven to 400
1 lb. butter
4 cups flour
1 cup+5 tbs. sugar
1 tbs. vanilla

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla together and add flour slowly. Drop on cookie sheet by teaspoon and mash with wet fork. Bake 8-10 minutes. Top will be white and bottoms yellow.


These were the butter cookies I use to buy in school. A friend gave me this and they are wonderful. She use to work for the school system so this is the real deal for all you guys who remember these cookies. Enjoy them warm!!!!

These sound wonderful. But I can only imagine the calories and fat. They have Fat free butter? What is it called. Heart Smart or something.

This is a treat for once in awhile. It has to be real butter thats what makes them taste so good. LOL

But u don't understand . . . . . once I start eating cookies, I don't quit. lol Real butter will just make be singing Baby Got Back again. I'm trying to to get rid of it!! Not put it on!

oooooo those sounds sooooo good! Luckily I have kids at home so if I make them I MIGHT get 1 or 2. I think I will make them this weekend :D thanks for sharing!

Try adding some almond flavoring and put an almond on top. Taste like chinese almond cookies. Saw this on food network yesterday

Sounds scrumptious. My grandgirl can help me with this one. And WOW only 4 ingredients. And ya gotta love real butter ;) ;)

And another thing, add a few drops of red food coloring for Valentine's Day and top with a candied cherry or a red hot or red jelly bean :)
