Went to redeem Sunoco gift cards won in the shopping sprees. Had 30.00 and the employee informed me that they only accepted ONE gift card per transaction. This after, pumping my gasoline. No where is this posted (I checked). I have also contacted RTV and Sunoco--I am waiting on replies. I am just glad that instead of grabbing the gift certificates and going for gas, I had my purse along with me.
My concern is, what would have been the outcome if I hadnt had cash on me? I have managed a gas station before, and the employees ARE aware of treating gift cards as cash. This corporation is limiting them on store level. I spoke with customer service this morning and was treated with indifference. I was told the system is set up and that is just the way it is. I responded with they are putting restrictions on CASH sales and I would be letting those around me aware of their policy concerning THEIR gift/cash cards thereby letting people make an informed decision regarding Sunoco--I, for one, dont think I will be frequenting them anymore.
Just wanted all to know about the "restrictions" being placed on the SUNOCO gc, any maybe before redeeming, should go in and make sure they are going to be accepted before pumping gas or whatever (and for that matter ANY gift cards, that you receive be it from RewardTV or anyother site). I will be doing seperate transactions to get rid of the remaining Sunoco's that I have left.
