question about walmart policy

I noticed today at the registers a sign that said if the item rings up wrong you get $3 off your total bill. So I bought something that the sign said reg $8.97 now $4.00....well it rang up full price and when I asked about getting the $3 off.....they said not on clearance.........they sign says nothing about excluding clearance items. Anyone know anything about this?? What would you do in this situation?

I have always gotten the price scan policy honored even on clearance items. But I have been to a Wal-Mart out of town that refused to honor it on clearance items. You would think they would all abide by the same rules, but I guess not. Go figure :rolleyes:

I think they all just kinda make up their own policy. I live within 10 miles of 4 different Walmarts and they all have different policies on things.

At our Walmart it is not good on Clearance prices either. :(

Heck most of the cashier don't even know about the policy as it is. If you do get it ringing up at the wrong price, they have no clue what you are talking about. :rolleyes:
