If you're pregnant...can't you get medical thru your state?

i have it through the state i just moved from, but that is 1800 miles away. and being this pregnant i still wouldnt be able to have a dentist do anything about it due to the risk it could have on the baby.

Actually, dentists can do much more for pregnant women than they used to be able to. No; they can't knock you out to cut it out, but some dentists can numb the area and remove the bothersome tooth while you're awake now. We have a dentist here that does that.
When's the baby due? Just had a baby girl myself on Dec 7th.

I would trying using motrin instead of tylenol, and get some cloves and put on it, that seems to work, and I dont know about every state but when I was pregnant, the dentist could not pull a tooth of mine, no matter how much it needed it and how bad it hurt. I feel for you lilo, hope it stops hurting soon, also when you lay down, it also helps to lay on your hand, on the side that hurts. Hope this helps to some sort.

If you have pure vanilla extract you can try rubbing some of that on it. That sometimes helps for me. My father in law swears by the cloves. He says nothing works better for him. I also found that the baby orajel works better for me then the adult stuff. Sounds weird I know! lol I hope you get some relief soon. Toothaches are one of my weak points. I can't stand having a sore tooth! :(

if you are in your 3rd trimester you should NOT be taking anything other than tylenol or generic. no ibuprofin or asprin. i'm sure you know that, as every pregnant woman should, but just making sure.
since you have medical through the state go to your dr. and ask him/her for a referral to a dentist. if it's an emergency they should be able to get you in no problem to have it yanked. that pain of a couple days without heavy drugs (and i know plenty of people who go without anyway) will be a lot less painful that waiting until you have the baby to get this done.

i posted on here a couple of weeks ago about my killer toothache, and got a lot of good advice. what seemed to work the best was to put dry rice in an old knee sock, tie it shut, and put it in the microwave til it gets very warm. hold it on your face for the pain. this worked wonders for me, and i was at the end of my rope. try it, it may help. hope it feels better soon.
