woman jumped out of car and got run over

DH and I were driving home from my sisters 150 miles away from our home today. We stopped to eat lunch and outside our window a woman jumped out of a car that was slowing for a redlight in front of Walmart. A Winnebago came by and ran over her. The police were there within minutes but this was in a small town and the ambulance had to come from the next city over. I don't know what took so long but that lady laid on the road for 25 minutes before the ambulance got there. It took another 15 to get her up and into the ambulance. The driver of the winnebago pulled over and stopped and then continued on his way. It wasn't like he was speeding away. I don't know if he didn't see what happened or what. It is possible he didn't because of the way the car was stopped that she had jumped out of. The details were kinda sketchy inside the restaurant but evidently they were having a quarrel and she jumped out. The man was crying his eyes out. Being a small town there was a crowd gathered like a circus. But these people were not just curious , they were genuinely sad, some were crying inside the restaurant. Evidently this woman was well known. It was a horrible experience.

A Winnebago came by and ran over her........... The driver of the winnebago pulled over and stopped and then continued on his way. It wasn't like he was speeding away. I don't know if he didn't see what happened or what. It is possible he didn't because of the way the car was stopped that she had jumped out of.


He had to know that he ran over someone or something! Even if you're in a huge vehicle you've got to be able to feel the bump of the person under the tires. (Sorry to be graphic but I can't believe he did not know he ran over something big).

That's just awful. I hope she survives.

once my parents went to a friend's house and were drinking. on the drive back they got in a terrible fight in the car and my mother jumped out of the car when it was going about 30 mph. luckily she wasn't injured that bad from jumping out of the car. she had landed in a ditch on the side of the road that was covered in snow.

The reason she laid in the road most likely is because they were waiting for the ambulance to move her. If she had broken neck or back and they moved her with out stabilizing her correctly she would have died or been paralyzed.

I am sorry you witnessed such a terrible thing! The holidays can really create havoc for some people I guess.

I dont think the woman had a death wish i think she was mad that with out thinking she just jump out of the car and got hit.
that is sad hope she heals and feels better.

maybe she thought this was her only way out of the quarrel they were having....who knows but her why she did it.
I hope she is ok tho and recovers :)
