I've been considering switching to PeoplePC internet service...and was just wondering what everyone here thought about it. I know they have regular dial up...as well as "accelerated" dial-up. Anyone here who has it think the accelerated is worth the extra $$$---do you really notice a difference in speed?

I've never used it, but I know my mom did once, and she didn't like it. I don't remember what her dislikes about it were, but I know they gave her a really hard time when she tried to cancel. :(

i had ppl pc before i went to earthlink dsl and i really did like them. they were always really friendly. in fact, i actually still have my mail box bc when i went to cancel, they said they would give me three months of free service so that i can make sure and contact everyone and give them my new email. if they ever get dsl, i might go back. the only thing is the accelerated was fast, but it did funny things to my pc. but, my pc was not in the best shape to begin with! i would ask for a disk and not a download.
edited to say that the only thing that i did not like about them was when you are online, you always have a window open for the start up thing. i hated that, but it might not be a big deal for other ppl, i am just wierd, lol.

I'm using them now! You can tell the difference in speed!! PLus you have the option of slowing it down...or making it faster..it doesn't speed up e-mail attachments, music downloads...I think they give you a month free to see if you like it or not.
