I don't know if I want to cuss or cry right now.
My oldest DD (25) desperately wanted hot rollers for c-mas, so I bought a new set off ebay. I just now got them and I am SO disappointed!!! The rollers were NIB as stated in the auction, but the seller didn't put the box in anything! She just mailed the actual roller box! Now there are labels and tape all over it and of course its been banged up and the edges of the box are torn. This is no way in gift giving condition :(
Why on earth would someone ship something like that???

Ohh, I would be so mad.... That is terrible. Is it to much to ask for a little common sense? The seller should have at least wrapped it carefully in some brown kraft paper, that is what I always do. Not only does the paper help prevent damage to the box, but it keeps everyone in the household from being able to see what it is when it arrives. If your daughter happened to live with you, she could have been the one to get the mail and see it. Surprise! Here are the rollers you wanted and damaged to boot...Merry Christmas!
I say you should contact the seller and tell them that the rollers did not arrive as stated because they are not NIB, they were damaged in shipment because of careless packaging (hoping that you got insurance on them.)
If all else fails, just tell your daughter the truth about ordering them online and since they were shipped in their original box, the post office roughed up the box. If the contents are not damaged, then maybe she will understand. She would have probably thrown the box away after she started using them anyway.
Good luck!

Well between my 1st post and now, I have opened the box to make sure nothing was damaged (and its not) and LUCKILY the rollers are inside yet another thin carboard type box that I can still wrap. However I do like your idea lassss and I think thats what I am going to do for her :)
I am still disappointed in the whole thing. You guys know what its like to want the original packaging to be intact when giving gifts, especially when something is advertised as such. I e-mailed the seller before posting here and she replied super fast and was willing to do anything to make it up to me.... which isn't necessary at this point.... It was just the initial shock of someone actually mailing something like that. Hopefully she won't do it again in the future. I don't intend on leaving her bad feedback since I do have other alternatives, but I may very well leave neutral FB.
I totally agree andrea... what if my DD had been visiting or something? No surprise there! LOL
Maybe its just PMS, i dunno LOL

Sometime you can get some cute boxes at the craft store or even the dollar store...
Most people have NO common sense....Ebay is a crap shoot...(sorry, can I write that??)
