The wedding was perfect. Mur was speechless for the first time in his life  Valinda was already at the church with everyone else. My oldest son drove, Army Major rode behind him. Mur in front seat, me behind him. The grandkidlettes in the far back of the SUV. When we got half way there, I reached over the seat and blindfolded him. We got a red light at Krispie Kreme and I was afraid he was going to smell his favorite dessert  Nope. Son drove around several blocks in different directions to totally make Mur loose any bearings he might have had. We pull in the church parking lot, he's still blindfolded. The 2 guys escort him into the church up to the fireplace in the chapel. I go up, take the blindfold off and he's like "WHAT THE ????" I said "Mur turn around and look at the doorway". There stood Valinda in the most beautiful white gown, train, gold and silver embroidery, hair done up with babysbreath. She carried a small bouquet of a dozen red roses w/babysbreath w/burgundy and white ribbon bows and streamers that her best friend made. There were also a dozen red roses on the 2 tier wedding cake. She was truly breathtaking. His eyes got glassy and I thought he was going to cave in but he stood tall. And his Major talked him into to wearing his dress greens. So both the Army guys were in dress military uniforms. The 2 grandkidlettes were the maid of honor and best man and had to hand their parents some new rings that were bought for the occasion. Cameras flicking everywhere. Can hardly wait to see others pics since they all had digital cameras and fancy cameras. My SIL did a video of the whole thing. It was so romantic.
They started their honeymoon about 1/2 hour ago :D
and ps - Mur loved my long purple dress, antique (my g.g. nana's) amethyst necklace and bracelet.
Sorry if this was too long but I didn't know how to shorten it. I'm still floating. Have no idea how I will sleep tonight. Too wound up. Maybe a BIG glass of Chablis will help. NAW!!!

Wow...it sounds like it was absolutely beautiful. I'm so happy for both of them. They have made sacrifices for our country and they deserve a little fairy tale time.
And...your description wasn't the least bit long. (You haven't read any of my posts apparently...LOL.)
