Today i noticed when i was reaching 30 mph with windows open i heard a consistent ticking sound on passenger side only. I haven't heard it before either so I doubt it was always there and I didn't hear that sound though with windows closed. Just consistent tick tick tick... which was really annoying. I tried leaving windows open so I could try figurin it out but couldnt? Do you think it might be wheels need tightening or something? I tried checking if anything was stuck on side of passenger side to make that noise but couldnt see anything or i mighta missed it since it is night time but it's worrying me but other people are saying it's nothing. But to me that consistent tick tick tick sounds like something is wrong. Do you think I'm overworrying about it? TIA

my car did this to me a couple years ago, and i too thought that perhaps the wheel was loose or something. turns out that the tire needed replaced. it was so warped that the metal bands were sticking through. you might just want to check that out, even if it looks fine on the outside if you check the other side it may be warped. it could be a very dangerous thing to have a blow up.

thanks for the insight. I rarely drive on sucky roads but friend needed to be driven back and railroad tracks, bad pavement where you actually hear it going over it... not smooth at all.... might have contributed to it. I never had this problem before but I'm going to keep from driving over there again. I guess I'll try figuring out the I'll have to ask work to be released early (I have 2 jobs so it's hard finding time...).

Wheel bering would be my guess.

I would say a wheel bearing also. My husband is a mechanic and I have personally had this happen to me in my truck also.

thanks. I'm goingto ask work to let me off earlier tomorrow since all the shops close by the time I get out. Wish I could fix problem today but have 2 jobs today and walmart I know probably would be mad about it lol and get out all the way at 11 pm. I guess I'll take it to good year since thats a tire place.

could be a rock or nail in your tire?!?!

I bet it's a split tread. The wires inside the tire literally split apart and the tire may have either a bulge on it or something of a flat spot. Definitely have to replace it.
