Depending upon which Windows you are using you may be able to get rid of the infections by doing a system restore. Hope this helps. If not, PM me and I will see if I can help you further.

Also, don't download anything unless you know who it is from, that includes email to Outlook. Now days, it is safer to read it on the web than chance the infections.

Four invaluable tools for me have been Ad-aware by Lavasoft( and make sure you also get the VX2 finder from their website--people have been having a problem with a new hijacker that constantly changes and renews and is the absolute devil to get rid of), Hijack This, CW shredder (removes Cool web variants), and Spybot S&D. Kill2Me and LSPFix are recommended by some, but LSPFix is usually for advanced users. There are several websites that you can post a hijack this log from your computer and they'll tell you what to do to get rid of whatever is hijacking your homepage. I'm sorry you've been having problems--I think people who sit around and think of new viruses and hijackers should be exiled to Siberia. They suck.....hard.

Hi! I know www.earthlink.net can help some. I just went the other night and had 60 of 62 spyware/adware files removed from my comp. And to keep people from highjacking your comp, you will want to run a firewall. I have Zone Alarm. Rated # 1. It is free from www.zonealarm.com or www.zonelabs.com. I hope this helps.

Try www.trendmicro.com. Use their free online scan. It easily finds and destroys viruses. It saved my computer and is a very reputable site! If you cannot get the page to open from your current browser, try opening the webpage through your control panel, that was the only way I could get to it because my computer was hijacked!

I have learned a lot from KIm Komando and she has a lot of cool links and info at her site. In fact I checked my computer last week from a link of hers that checks to see if am outside source can get through your firewall. http://www.komando.com/ get her tips of the day and her cool site of the day well worth visiting her site.

I agree with the last poster about Kim Commando, I listen to her radio-talk-show,and she is very helpful and informative. My husband is a fanatic about spyware, hijackers, etc. Unfortunately, he found that alot of the spy ware we pick up is from going to all these different sites that are posted here, and on other sites. (not blaming this site at all), it is just the way the computer world is today. You have to be really careful where you go and what you download. Good luck, hope you can get it taken care of ASAP!

It sounds like a hijacking program. McAfee and Symantic both have free hijack removal tools on thier web site. Also try and reset security levels in internet options under control panel. Its possible they have been changed by the hijacking prog. You can download a copy of system mechanic off a shareware site that gives you 30 day free trial and use it to illiminate junk stuff in registry and it has a free version of spysweeper in it. It does a pretty good job. What versions of Windows, IE explorer and your antivirus are you running?
XP with sp2 tends to lock out Java specific sites if it isn't set right. Also are you using a firewall, if so what type?

I was going to suggest trendmicro but someone else has. I also run AVG which is a free download. Both programs have found viruses that Norton didn't find.

Just a little help....
When you run any of your spyware or removal tools...always turn off your restore point. If you don't, the second you reboot your computer, the virus or spyware is placed back into your computer. Once you've run your removal and rebooted, then go back and turn on your system restore....hope that helps.

also when you get pop ups dont click on the x to close it off
go down to the tool bar and right click and then close
some of the new ones are bad they install crap instead of xing them off
and you think you are closing it but your not.....
antivirus.com is a great one.........make sure you update your spybot and adaware
there are newer versions of them out...
i also am doing some of the paid to click programs and notice that that is where alot of my spy ware comes from.............i can have a page open run adaware and when i delete the entries in it it closes the page i have open........

see if you can start your computer in safe mode...then run your avg...it will catch some that would normally be running in the back ground....and when you do it in safe mode it helps even with your spy bot and your ad aware....

turn off your computer as soon as it starts rebooting start hitting f5 and keep hitting it til it gives you the option to run in safe mode....
hope this helps
