Our City Crew Put Up Christmas Decorations Yesterday,has Your Town Started Yet?

I Actually Thought It Was Way To Early To Put Up Christmas Decorations.gosh We Havent Had Thanksgiving Yet.this Is Just My Opinion ,but I Think Christmas Is To Commercialized Now Days/it Takes Away From The Whole Meaning Of The Little Baby!! So Hows Everyone Elses Town Doing This?

While our town is not just yet, we passed through a small town yesterday that was putting theirs up. They do it at this time every year. They wont turn the decorations on though till after Thanksgiving.

Our mall was decorated the day after Halloween. In about another week or so the town will put up the wreaths and trees that they decorate.

I've seen a few storefronts with their Christmas stuff up. But what really takes the cake is a radio station is playing nothing but Christmas music already. They decided to do it to ease the tension from the election.

Nothing up around here yet, but it's coming. I can feel it.
Does this mean I can put my tree up? We usually wait until Thanksgiving night. Everyone full of turkey and pie, grunting to get the tree out of the attic. It's really pretty funny.
Plus, I have all these presents wrapped ready to go under the tree. I am officially done shopping! WoooHooo!

Our village is decorated before Thanksgiving,but nothing is lit,that's because the day after turkey day we have what is called "The Blaze of Lights" our main street and town square are "turned on" at night fall as well as the towns people houses.Our town is a tourist attraction because of this.They have horse drawn wagons to take people around town to see the houses. It is really pretty.

I noticed the day after Halloween they had put up the Christmas wreaths on the telephone poles and had them lit on the main street here. Light up night here is Nov. 18. We went to the mall yesterday and Santa was already there. My 7 year old went to talk to Santa. Santa told him he will be bringing him a Playstation. :rolleyes:

here in asheboro nc our city has not put up the lights yet,but friday night i was in robbins nc(hometown of sen.john edwards)and they had their lights up but not on....i have noticed a couple of houses around town have their tree up and the lights on...i think it's to early but i always wait until the day after thanksgiving to put up my christmas stuff.

here they start putting them up but don`t light them til the day after Thanksgiving.....The stores & mall however, are a completely different story. We have a store here that puts up thier tree in july........I always wait til Dec. 1st for my decorations. I think the towns & the stores should wait til at least until after Thanksgiving.JMO

I saw at the Palm's movie theater they put up a tree but I'm unsure if the city actually puts up decorations around here... I don't remember any last year besides some banners on light poles, nothing extravagant.. hm.. But it is too early! I think decorations shouldn't go up until after thanksgiving unless they are putting up thanksgiving decorations. I also think that Christmas is way too commercialized these days.. what can we do?
