Goodbye
"Once and for all, as far as my connection goes, Bond is over. If you ask me how did it become over, well, it's hard to find the truth in a town called Hollywood. In the middle of negotiations, everything stopped. I got a call and my agent said, "They've ceased negotiations". I said, "Why? How?". I never really got an answer, but the producer said they didn't know how to continue and I said, "Fair enough. Goodbye". It was good while it lasted. I wish them well, I wish the next man well. And that's what really happened."
SORRY I HAD TO CHANGE SUBJECTS...winkwink...but this is more upsetting sniffle...sniffle.... now where will i go for suave debonaire screen loving???

I've listened a lot to who producers were considering for the next Bond (as well as the next Superman) and I've heard a LOT of ideas that sounded better than Colin Farrel. Don't get me wrong, I think he is HOT and LOVE to watch/listen to him, but he's not James Bond material. He is too wild and just doesn't have that debonaire quality that Bond needs. One of the potentials that I thought would do quite well in the role was Hugh Jackman. I know, he's a little rough around the edges, but I think he could pull it together and make a great James Bond.

I agree. Hugh Jackman would make a great Bond. He's good looking but not too good looking. He's a great actor, has the accent. Yeah, he's got me vote.

Sorry to burst your bubble, my friend, Pierce IS IRISH. But, I agree, as the Brits say, he is DEAD SEXY (which means he is EXTREMELY SEXY). I agree w/ the British accent and brown hair...that is my dh...but sorry he is mine.... :)

Farrell: Pierce is just messing with me
LOS ANGELES, -- Irish actor Colin Farrell says he doesn't believe countryman Pierce Brosnan is serious about him taking over the James Bond franchise. Brosnan's recent announcement that he would not reprise his most famous role has sparked a flurry of predictions about who will be the next actor to play the popular film character.
Brosnan was quoted in the media last week as saying he would like to see the Dublin-born "Alexander" and "Phone Booth" star headline the next Bond film. "I think Pierce is just messing with me, causing me a lot of grief," Farrell told UPI in a phone interview Sunday. "I was doing a job in London last week and I arrived on the set every day and everyone was (humming the 007 theme song.)"
So, would he consider playing the suave super spy if asked? "I don't know," Farrell replied. "Nah. They would never offer it to me anyway, so I wouldn't even go there."

Ewan McGregor, best odds to be next Bond
LONDON, -- Bookmakers in Britain give Scottish actors Ewan McGregor and Dougray Scott the inside track to play James Bond in the next 007 movie. McGregor, who has top odds of 9/4 to get the role, will soon make his London theater musical debut in a new production of "Guys And Dolls," reported the BBC Saturday. He also played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the recent "Star Wars" prequels. William Hill, an online betting Web site, reported that Scott was just behind with 9/2 odds. He starred in "Mission Impossible II" and "Enigma."
There is increasing speculation over who will get the famous Bond role after Pierce Brosnan recently revealed film's producers had dropped him. Brosnan's pick to succeed him was fellow Irishman, Colin Farrell. Oddsmakers give Farrell odds of 7/1, however, Farrell has said in interviews the chances of his playing bond were more unlikely.

Colin Firth eyes James Bond role
By Adam Butler, AP

Colin Firth is done being Bridget Jones' nice guy, but he's not against donning British agent 007's tuxedo. Firth, 44, tells Entertainment Weekly magazine that he'd seriously consider taking over the James Bond franchise from Pierce Brosnan. "At the moment, I can't think of anything I would be less attracted to," says Firth about the possibility of a third Bridget Jones film.
However, the 44-year-old actor tells Entertainment Weekly magazine that he'd seriously consider taking over the James Bond franchise from Pierce Brosnan.
Unlike another famous Colin — Colin Farrell, who says he's not interested in the role despite being Brosnan's choice — there's been no talk of Firth grabbing Bond's Walther PPK. "No one has approached me, but I would not be averse to it," Firth tells EW in its latest issue.
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, the sequel to the 2001 original, stars Firth as the stiff tacky sweater-wearing lawyer Mark Darcy and Renee Zellweger as Bridget Jones.
Firth, whose screen credits also include Love Actually and Shakespeare in Love, said he isn't interested in Mark Darcy-like roles. "I'm attracted to dark stuff," he said, "and I'm in that mode right now."

Connery Wants McGregor As Bond
Ewan McGregor should be the next James Bond, according to former 007 star Sir Sean Connery. Star Wars actor McGregor was recently reported to be in negotiations to take over from Pierce Brosnan as the super spy - and Connery thinks he'd be a great choice if he's brave enough to take on the role. Connery tells Pagesix.Com , "He's very good. He should do it if he wants to do it. But it's a bit of a poison chalice. It is slightly more difficult than people realize because it has to look very comfortable and very easy and very cool." According to media reports, McGregor is battling it out with Colin Farrell, Hugh Jackman and Jude Law for the coveted role.

Scottish actor Craig Ferguson is CBS 'Late Late Show' host
NEW YORK (AP) — Scottish actor Craig Ferguson, who played the boss for many years on The Drew Carey Show, will be the new host of CBS' Late Late Show.

Ferguson was one of four finalists with Michael Ian Black, D.L. Hughley and Damien Fahey. By Chris Pizzello, AP
A formal announcement was expected Tuesday, according to two executives close to CBS who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Ferguson passed through a gauntlet of on-air tryouts set up by Worldwide Pants, David Letterman's production company. He was one of four finalists with actor Michael Ian Black, comedian D.L. Hughley and MTV Total Request Live host Damien Fahey.
He replaces Craig Kilborn, who announced in August that he was leaving the 12:30 a.m. talk show after five years. The Late Late Show trails the time slot leader, NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien, in the ratings.
Ferguson's Scottish burr at least brings a different sound to late-night television. He was endorsed by New York Daily News critic David Bianculli, who said in a column printed Tuesday that Ferguson "just kept getting more and more comfortable, and showed more range, humor and originality than any of the others."
Ferguson, 42, wrote and produced the 2000 film Saving Grace. He was a top comic in Britain before moving to Los Angeles in 1995.
