I have a friend from back home working close to me. He is staying in a hotel, I have tried calling for over 30 minutes, no answer at the front desk. It is just aggravating. And what is more aggravating is that there is an automated service so you can link straight to the rooms. But they hardly ever have it on.

When I did get them on the phone I would be telling them a thing or two about their poor service. Hopefully you will get through to your friend soon. :)

Must be a small hotel. I use to work in one, where I ended up being maid service, janitor, you name it. I finally decided to tell the Manager my job is Front Desk, and the hell with the rest.
I got fired! Was worth it! Also got him fired too, cuz he was residing on the premises... LOL

I would also write to the Hotel. They might even send some discount coupons out to you and Hopefully, fix the problem there.

Yep, that's not good...My 2nd job is at a hotel--at the front desk! The phone is to ring no more than 3 times or 10 seconds! This is standard for all hotels. It's a big no-no to keep customers or potential customers waiting like that.

I let the phone ring for seven minutes and 14 seconds (timer on phone). My friend called me back and asked why I hadn't called. He went to the front desk, told them he was expecting a phone call, and that I had been trying to call for over 30 minutes. I found out the man at the front desk is also the manager/owner. So I have no idea who I could report it to.
