with the bedroom door open or closed? I have no small children in my house, so I sleep with mine closed. How about you?

Closed, though I did sleep with it open when my kids were small.

During the week I sleep with it open so I can hear the kiddos. On weekends I work night shift, so I sleep with the door closed during the day:)

Keep my bedroom doors open now but closed them when I had a dog. Didn't want dog hair in my bed or bedroom floor. When my kids were little the bedroom door was only closed during ??..??..??..times :D

open

mostly because of the kids... partly because I feel the need to be able to hear everything in this house 24/7 lol

Open, but I read something one time that says all bedroom doors should be closed at nite, for fire protection. Guess it'd buy you a few more minutes if the door was closed. I think it's scary to sleep w/ the door closed though.

 OMG-The closet door DEFINATELY has to be closed.

I sleep with the bedroom door open but my 7yr old was always so sick so that is out of habit. If anyone is staying over and watching tv or something, I need to shut it.

I used to sleep with mine closed until i was attacked one night in my own home and ever since i sleep with it "OPEN" I think just having it closed reminds me of that night and i tend to wake up thru out the night if its closed...weird i know

If i do close it i stick a shoe in it so it doesnt close all the way and my kitties arent scratchin at it either.

If I'm taking a nap during the day and DH is watching the kids, its shut. That way I can sleep in peace. lol

If we have company (my mom or DH's mom) then they are shut. They always get up with the kids and let us sleep in. :D

If its just us and the kids, they are open. I'm to scared to close it just in case one of them were to scream out for me or someone was to come in the house. I'm paranoid about things like that. lol

I used to always sleep with the door open. But I have collected a few cats during the past year and half and my oldest cat doesn't get along with them. So she stays in my bedroom with the door closed so the other cats don't bother her. So now I sleep with the door closed to keep the other cats away from her plus I don't think I want to sleep with 5 cats in bed with me.

Open with the hall light on. That way if the kids are scared or have a bad dream they can find their way to me.

We don't have a bedroom door... we live in a loft type townhouse... so open... but if I had a door it would most definitely be closed. Due to fire safety ALL bedrooms that are occupied should have the door closed... it keeps the smoke to a minimum and usually gives you about 10 more minutes to find a way out the window if the fire is 'at the door'. Smoke is the biggest reason tho... when ppl die in fires it is almost always from smoke inhilation and it helps to keep the smoke from coming in so quick... They also say you should keep a towel handy so it can be placed over the opening at the bottom of the door.

Mama... I have never been attacked in my home, but I am paranoid about it. I keep Christmas bells hanging from my front door so I can hear when it opens (light sleeper). It makes me feel more secure... just a thought. :)

Closed until we had a child.....now you have to be able to hear if he gets sick or is calling or whatever.

OPEN!!! When the kids were in the house it was closed, but when it's just us two (and the cats) we leave it open. I agree about the closet door though, I always have to have that shut and don't let my hand hang off the edge of the bed either (you never know when those little trolls will come and stab you) LOL

Open - only because it gets stuffy and stinky if it's closed. Gotta love (DH's) morning breath! DH is up and gone before I get up, and he closes the door so he doesn't wake me up.

I was so scared to sleep with the door closed when I was little (but the closet doors had to be closed). I grew into sleeping with the door closed because I wanted to be in my own little retreat. Then, I had kids. So now the door is open again.

Open. I can't stand being closed in. Every door in my house is open except the front door.
