Man, you aren't kidding. You CANNOT understand a word they are saying. On top of that, they kept transferring us all around and we NEVER got an answer to what we called about!

But, I have to say, I DO love my Dell! ;)

That's what I was thinking. I've heard they have terrible customer service.

I hope you have good luck with it crueheadchick. :)

Oh my goodness...I was thinking the same thing as the rest of you. We also got a Dell and were so excited...until we realized that we didn't get exactly the computer we had ordered. It was missing some things...small, rather insignificant things...but missing them the same.

Then we attempted to deal with their customer service. We gave up. It wasn't worth it for us. Hubby kept getting transferred from one barely English speaking person to another. What aggravation!!!

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what computer you should purchase anymore. I heard that Compaq had also outsourced their C/S to India. You don't want HP computers because their equipment is proprietary and you can only replace parts with HP parts.

Whatcha going to do? We just purchased a complete surround system for our family room from Circuit City. Hubby called to arrange for installation and yep...you guessed it...he was talking to India again!

Sorry to rain on your parade Crueheadchick. I hope you NEVER have problems with your computer.

I'm a Dell owner and so far the only problem I have had was my volume went missing. But I'm buying from Rent-A-Center(like Rent 1) and they sent it to Dell and I had it fixed for nothing. I'm just hoping that nothing happens after I pay it off in a couple of months. Then I'll probably start to worry..lol

CONGRATS on the new computer though!!

My old one was wayyyyyyyy slow and when I got this, I thought I was in heaven..lol

I have to say that I have had one problem with my dell (my second) I still have the other the kids use it. The mouse port went out on me a few weeks ago. It was a few days before my warranty was up. I used the tech support link on the website (didn't call) and told them what was wrong with it. I told them that we had tried the keyboard on another computer and tried another keyboard on this computer. So they emailed me back the next day (was on a weekend too) and told me that it was def. the mother board and would have someone contact me to come out and replace the motherboard. I had a phone call and appointment set all in a week. My computer was up and running with a new motherboard in a week with no muss or fuss. I was amazed and very happy.

So if you have a problem maybe instead of calling you should use the tech support on the website.

Not saying I agree with the Customer support jobs going overseas but if ya have a dell and need help ya need help.

Oh and Congrats on the dell!!! I love my XPS even though my software can be a bit of a brat sometimes. I love my computer! :D

We had an HP and it did ok until we kept getting virus's and it just messed it up, plus it was 5 years old so the Dell just puts it to shame on speed. But so far so good.

My sister bought a complete Dell package online. Very satisifeid. She was missing a program that was to come with it and they delivered it a few days later. She has been a puter programmer and teacher in the past so she knows what to do.

We've had a Dell for about a year and a half. I've added memory, a CD burner and a bigger hard drive, but we've never had any problem with it.

Hmm I have bought exactly 5 PCs since 1998. 3 of them are Dell, the oldest of the bunch was bought in 2001. Recently, they delivered a printer I ordered to a wrong house, and I had to called Dell and FedEx to report the incidient. FedEx went to pickup the printer where they delivered it and sent it back to Dell. A few days later Dell refunded my money. What a hassle, but they were politely in correcting the mistake.

Yes we have! We had to add a bigger hard drive cause the lump of plastic quit working! Though we just have bad luck when it comes to computers. :)
