My year has been the strangest, most stressful one ever!

I got laid off yesterday (jobs outsourced to India, don't even get me started)

My brother had his court date for sentencing (long story, stupid thing he did that just snowballed because they wanted to make an example of someone)(didnt get too much, basically a short probationary period)

My divorce should be final by the end of the year - filed 6 months ago, and we're still living in the same house until we get it sold! (fun fun fun)

I am selling the house, escrow should close by the end of the month (can finally get separate houses!)

Had a cancer scare, but after a few "procedures" appears to be taken care of

Have to make a dentist appt for a filling

For a while it just seemed that if one more thing happened I was going to lose it!
But, now all seems to be coming together - have a decent severance package from being laid off - will give me a few months to find another job - didn't really like the job anyway, and commuting 3-4 hours a day was getting REALLY old! So - i think that was for the best.

After a few false starts, finally got the house sold, and escrow is proceeding smoothly! :D

Found a place to rent for a while that is in the same school boundaries, so no changes need to be made there. (and they will let me bring my dog, which has been an issue in finding a place!)

Overall, I finally feel like I can finally relax! - Now I am off to the fabric store, going to start a couple of projects with all my new free time!

Sounds like you've dealt with it pretty well. Things should only get better now.

Just being able to sell and rent in So Cal is an accomplishment! :)

It absolutely sounds like a stressful year; I'm glad things are falling into place for you.

On the outsourcing to India. Oh my goodness...if one more company does that!!! I swear, before I make any major purchase from now on, I'm going to ask where their customer service is located. If it's in India...I will not do business with them.

(I realize that it's easier to say than do...but I'm certainly going to try.)

We recently purchased everything to have a surround-sound system installed in our family room. We got everything from Circuit City and then tried to make arrangements for the installation. (This is a brand new house and it is COMPLETELY WIRED for the surround sound system. However, you have to purchase the hardware yourself and get it installed.)

Anyway, hubby called the customer service number and, you guessed it, he was talking to India. Communicating with them is very frustrating and if you vary from the script they are provided, they can't help you.

Sorry to hijack your thread...but this outsourcing to India trend is really getting annoying.
