You know, I just don't understand. This has just a been hell week at work. I can understand if you're sick....but if you have surgery and you KNOW its going to happen, wouldn't you make arrangements and let someone know PRIOR to it happening??? I would!!! Then we have the person who just decides not to show up. Three days in a row. Needless to say, she lost her job. Or the girl who says she has class. Now mind you, the schedule has been posted for two weeks. But she only knew she has class three days in advance'???? Hmmm....interesting don't you think? Of all these people I have working for me, most of them are college students. I have lost several people in the last month. Why bother to take a job if you're not going to actually work? Are people/kids that irresponsible? Maybe I think differently because I'm older and actually have priorities like my house and car and credit card payments?

God I'm glad I have a day off...ugh!!!

sorry you are having such a rough time with work and the people who work with you. It is respectable to give a ntoice prior to not being able to work so you can get someone to cover their area or shift. Guess some ppl just work when they feel like it.

If I pulled that - I would be FIRED! People at DH's work do it all the time. One guy went to Mexico for a week, and never called. You would assume he was fired, right? NO! He still works there! And like you, DH has to cover for him while he is relaxing on the beach...
