***UPDATE***
The lady contacted me today and has dropped the case...people on bbs are really honest and nice... Thanks for the advice. ;) Dawn

I've been buying/selling on the for sale or trade boards here on bbs for over 3 years, with 100's of positive feedback....Well the beginning of Sept. I sold to another member a total of approx. $25 worth of stuff....SHE DECLINED delivery confirmation and/or insurance when I clearly state in each and every listing or auction the following:

PLEASE READ:
DELIVERY CONFIRMATION + .55 is optional AND is the ONLY way I will guarentee packages up to $15 total until they are delivery to your addy against being LOST. If your package is more than $15 then insurance
(again optional) is $1.30 extra and is the ONLY way to guarentee packages over $15 from being lost, etc. also the only way for ANYTHING broken, damaged, etc. on any package.

Now please remember even after reading this SHE DECLINED them BOTH. Well on 9/24 she emailed asking where her package was, I explained to her that it had been mailed well over a week ago with all my other packages and she should have it any time now....I NEVER heard another word from her...Well today I get an email from paypal saying that she wants a refund and that I NEVER contacted her and she has repeatedly emailed me! I have NOT heard from her except for that one time. WHAT DO I DO???????? PLEASE HELP, Dawn [email protected]

I would contact paypal, and (hopefully you still have it, I keep all my reciepts), fax or send a copy of your mailing reciept and prove that you sent it off. Tell them what you say in your posts, and that you dont think you should be out of money since you did your part and she REFUSED DC and whatever. It should be her loss and not yours. Ive been doing the for sale/trade stuff here for awhile and ran into someone who said they never recieved my money as well. Till this day I think shes a sad women, but at the same time, if she really needed the $2 then its cool with me. Anyways, stand your ground, and do what you feel is fair and right. If she left neg. feedback for you, return the favor with your side of the story on her post (as this is what the "lady" did to me.) Let others know so they are aware of any problem people.

I would forward the e-mail that you sent her to PayPal along with your notation about delivery confirmation and decline to refund her. For all you know she has the package and wants her money back as well. Sometimes it's worth it to pay the extra.

Tina The only problem with this is that no matter what you have written into your terms...paypal requires you to put tracking on the package if you use them to accept payment, whether the buyer requests it or not. You either have to provide tracking info to paypal... or refund her money. I know it's not what you want to hear, but it's in the paypal terms of use.

Tina, I didnt know that? I looked in the terms of usage and I couldnt find it, can you please copy and paste ?? I have been using paypal for like 6 months now and I never knew this

So in other words. IF someone knows paypal and the system, they can go around declining delivery confirmation and/or insurance and take what they want for free! THIS SUCKS!!!! Paypal should make that in BIG writing for you to read WHEN you even sign up for a paypal account...Shoot they make you initial, confirm, and sign on the dotted line for everything BUT HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF!!! :( dawn

Wow - I feel the same way Dawn. With all the scammers out there - what a way to get over. Dawn I have traded with you many times and you have always come through so I really feel bad this is happening. :( :(

Tina thanks for pointing that out - I will definately start to use the tracking on paypal.
