I need to find a good pair of shoes for work. I will be standing on my feet for 7 hours a day and I need to have decent shoes so that my feet won't kill me! What do you all suggest? Do you have a favorite brand of shoes that are good for standing? My sister works in a cookie factory and she has problems trying to find a good pair of shoes also. I'm use to buying the cheapest pair of shoes because I don't have time or money to get good ones. :o So, I'm looking to all you wise folks to help me out! lol :D
Tell me what your suggestions would be. :)

I never can find a good pair of women's shoes that don't kill my feet, I work full time in a grocery store, so I'm on my feet all the time. I went to family dollar, and bought a cheap pair of mens sneakers, they work great for me.

My husband used to work on concrete all day and he loved New Balance brand of shoes.

When I worked at the sock factory (Sare Lee Socks) I wore Reebok but I don't remember which particular one. The nurses wore them and they were really good on my feet. I think it depends on your weight, arch, size, as everyone has a different feel with the same shoe. Now I wear Skechers without the heel. Tice's nurses also wore those. So comfortable and lots of support. Watch for sales. Or go to outlet stores for look alikes and try them ALL on. Good luck.

SAS. they aren't cheap, they aren't the prettiest ones either, but your feet will thank you.

Maybe the Dr.Scholls brand shoes?? My DH wears the New Balance or Reebok to work and he has the specially made arches that he puts inside his work shoes. A strong arch support is essential when you're standing on your feet all day. Thats what causes alot of the pain. Hope you find something that keeps you comfy. ;)

Nurse mates are supposed to be comfortable shoes. I've never owned a pair so I can't really say. I have wide feet and I was told that New Balance tends to be a wider shoe and that they are more comfortable than other brands.

Birkenstock. I think they are online. My SIL who is a nurse has some of those. They are expensive too.

I have a pair of those but they are the sandal type. They are very comfortable. I got them on QVC and they were $52 but you can order them from their website too.

http://www.birkenstock.com/

Here's their web site. I don't know anything about them but I think they have started having different styles.

My feet are also wide and flat with a high instep. I have a hard time finding shoes to fit right. I had my foot measured and my size is a 7 but I usually have to go up to an 8 unless I can find a 7 in a wide.

ITA! I used to work in a factory on concrete floors 8-12 hours a day. SAS shoes are expensive, but worth every penny.

Dr. Martens are fantanstic, but very expensive. You might be able to find them on ebay more reasonable though.

I waitress and wear Redwing brand shoes .. and they are comfortable and my feet and legs don't hurt .. even if I do a double. I was buying $40-$50 Nike's every 3-4 months cause they'd get so worn out and finally invested in my Redwings which were $100 2 1/2 ago .. my sole did recently crack :( .. but I am hoping they last till refund time so I can get another pair .. if you take care of them they can last a long time and it was well worth the investment. I would have spent way more than the $100 if I were still buying Nike's for work.

SAS shoes are the best. They have a lot of different styles. I have a nice pair of black suede SAS shoes. :) They run about 100 bucks but they are worth it. I stand for about 9 hours a day and I can kill a pair of Nike or New Balance in 3 months. So far, I have had these shoes since February and they are showing no signs of wear and tear. They have really nice looking sneakers too. :)

You can find them on ebay for decent prices. I've paid $20-$30 for brand new ones. I love my Doc Martens!
