wow, our cable is $8 a month. We have only basic channels, fox, the 3 networks. We try & watch only 1 hour of tv a night. We access the internet thru our phone line. Trying to have a low tech household. We read & play games as a family.

We pay $110 a month for cable tv and internet. We don't have any of the premium channels like HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc. And lately it hasn't been worth it!!

You forgot Tina, with all that cable the redneck got belts for the whole family too. May even have taken care of his Christmas shopping!

Because of the way Maine is set up you either get the cable company that provides for your particular county or you get the dish. Since no cable coverage over laps, a person in the north has a company completely different from the south. For basic cable, and cable internet it was costing us close to $100. Now we have satellite and cable internet and it costs us about $50.

With our digital cable (living room only) with HBO (cutting this off soon) and cable internet our bill comes to $103.00 a month. That includes all fees for extra tv hook ups, taxes and all of that stuff. To me, its to high! So I'm dropping HBO because we never watch it and we don't allow the kids to watch it. That should bring it down a little.

Our cable runs about $130 a month, that includes my RR, digital service, HBO, fees for cable boxes and the addition fee on for the 2 DVR boxes. Sadly this is the discounted price after they gave me my RR for less, other wise it would be alot closer to $150 a month.

seriously... i am NOT JOKING...

Cable isn't even available here, thanks to some redneck (no offense to those who consider themselves to be a redneck) that stole the roll of cable wire. The company refused to run the wire the rest of the way out here until the spool was returned. I guess someone wanted that dining room table mighty bad. :D

:)

OMG tina too funny! you should send that one to jeff foxworthy! Blue collar TV would love that one!!!

Our cable is probably about $50 with digital cable & Starz/Encore, tho our bill runs about $165, since we have the cable, internet, and phone all with the same company. Probably gonna get rid of Starz, since I'm not too impressed with the movies that have been showing.. or on any other premium channel for that matter... will just use EOD more.

$120 (usually) with cable internet, HBO Starz and Encore. We get like 10 channels each of the premium channels (10 HBO's etc)

Occasionally we will rent a PPV movie wich runs $3.99

Ours is about $125-130 for digital, HBO and Showtime packages, and wireless internet (plus the box/modem rentals, taxes, and soon the phone which will bring it up another $30 - and I hope it's worth it). It will go down a few dollars once my husband returns the old modem (I don't know where he put it), then they'll credit us as having a certain package that wasn't available before.

wow, how do you guys get by with paying so much out on tv entertainment? (just wondering, really?) I have to seriously watch every penny I have, & could never pay over $100 in tv.

We have DIRECTV and we pay $50 including fees for Total choice plus and showtime.
My internet is Qwest DSL and I have a package w/ them so I get my phone and internet for $65 including fees. I'm pleased I was paying $55 a month JUST for expanded basic cable through charter no movie channels and I paid $70 for my phone and $22 for my MSN dialup. So I guess I got a better deal now.

My monthly bill from Comcast is $134.92, $45.95 of which is internet service, so cable is costing us $88.97. We have Digital Gold package, which includes all the HBO's, Encore and I think Starz, plus the On Demand, which is great.

I don't think anyone's paying over a hundred for the tv stuff (maybe a person or two).. I believe most of them are with the cable internet, too. Mine is, plus my phone.

Never really thought about it. We don't go to out to the movies very often, rarely rent videos or DVD's. I would give up something else something else before I gave up my RR :D (unless fianaces got tough or it would take from my kids). Both of my kids are in school and use their PC regularly for research, so they would probably think their dying if they lost the RR.

Although if I ever got to where I had to trim back this bill would be the area I would do it in, I would lose the HBO, and reduce the number of cable boxes, and give up 1 of the 2 DVR's.
