Woman Accused of Prostituting Young Daughters

Kittanning (KDKA) A mother from Kittanning is now behind bars accused prostituting her two young daughters. Prosecutors say the woman would charge $5 or $10 for men to have sex with the 9- and 12-year-old girls.

The 42-year-old woman, whose name is withheld to protect the identities of her children, is being held in the Armstrong County Jail along with a Gilpin Township man.

Wayne Danjou, 60, is charged with raping the girls inside his van at the Wal-Mart Parking lot in East Franklin, the Highland Mall parking lot in Harrison and the JC Penney parking lot in Lower Burrell.

Armstrong County District Attorney Scott Andreassi says the alleged encounters with Danjou went on for more than a year; and more arrests could be pending.

During questioning, Andreassi says the mother was actually laughing and had a cavalier attitude about the allegations.
"It was clearly an attitude as if -- you know -- 'What's the big deal? What's the problem? Why is this such an issue with everyone?'" -- Scott Andreassi, Armstrong County DA


The woman is facing a number of charges including endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, prostitution and related charges.

Danjou has been charged with rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, prostitution and related charges.

The little girls are now in custody of the child welfare system.

That is terribly SICK!!!!

My DH's ex wife (they were married for 17 years) went through that as a child. Her mom prostituted the ex, her twin sister, the little sisiter and little brother.

All 4 of them have mental problems now (who can blame them??) but the Ex is the worst of the four.

What happened to them has caused her to be unable to have a "normal" relationship with anyone, including her 2 children (who I raised)

To this day the youngest of the 2 girls (my 22 y/o) gets so upset with her mom and the way she treats DD. I have NEVER talked bad about her real mom but I have told my DD that there may come a time that she will just have to "let go" and not have a relationship with her.... before you flame me for saying that, you must know that the 2 girls went through hell with this woman. They experienced being kidnapped by her and an escaped convict and they have suffered emotional abuse.. I can't even begin to tell you the stories...

I pray that the 2 girls get the social help that they will need :(

She got caught but how many other parents use their children to get money, whether it is prostitiution or using them in porn or whatever. Some people have no regard for their children or anything except for themselves.

We are outraged but at the same time what are we to do? So many of these crimes go undetected for years because the victims are afraid to tell. How do you convince a child that they can tell if they are being abused when they fear being put into foster care or their parents are telling them that they will be killed or who knows what threats are being spoken.

How do you convince a child that they will be safe if they tell? They are loosing the only home that they have and the only life that they know. They are afraid that they will go to jail or something horrible will happen to either them or their siblings. And if they tell, will they be believed?

It never ceases to amaze me what some sick people do with our most precious commodity (and NOT in the financial sense)...our children. They are our future, and every day you hear about how some deranged adult has taken away their innocence. I pray those 2 girls (and the many others similarly scarred) can get past this and have "normal" lives.

schsa is so right.

As a country we do very little to protect the rights of children. We all talk a good talk...but we don't demand legislation that backs up that talk.

And...in most states...if a child is abused by a parent, the penalties are much less. I think they should be worse because of the trust issues involved.

This story is so horrible and so sad. These girls will probably NEVER recover from this.

My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for 28 months.This stuff just sickens me.People take for granted the blessing that God gives them.Sometimes I wonder why he gives people like that children when people like myself are having a hard time.

You can come but I get first dibs...I wanna use my bare hands (around the neck) this is just totally unnacceptable, as not only a mother but a human being. Being a mother makes it a bazillion times worse. I still can't imagine why someone would even consider doing this to a child..geez.
