augh- why is it every time I clean up one area- my kids just have to mess it up? I've been going crazy doing the single mom thing! I really know how hard it is now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am glad my oldest will be in head start for 3 hours!! I at least will be able to get a little more done! Augh!!

It doesn't really get any better either. Seems like I'm still picking up after my adult kids (I can't wait until they say they will do it).

As the mother of 3 little ones I can say that picking up after children is like shoveling snow while it is snowing.

*LOL* been there, done that, bought the tshirt, sold the movie rights! :D anyway, mine are both in school full time this year BOOYAH!! so...how'd i get mine to clean up..well. everyone knows i am a hard ass, so..when my kids make a mess, ie when i find said mess? they clean it up, while i am standing there watching them, pointing out what they should do and how(even helping them ). and yes, sometimes they get their tails dusted. but truly? this is the 1st time ever that i have had a clean house!! he's 11 , she is 6. they are old enough to help round the house. both know how to do dishes, and occasionaly i have them wash dishes. i supervise my girl directly, while my son only needs me to pop in the kitchen every 15 min. or so. my theory? they damn well live here to they can damn well help make it livable. part of my job as their mum is to prepare them to live independantly of me. sooo thats what i am doing. an truly when i get back to college an after, when i am working, they will have to help take up some of the slack. dang..sorry if i took over this thread. didna mean to..anywa..it DOES GET BETER!! THE KIDS WILL THANK YOU FOR THIS WHEN THEY"VE GROWN INTO SOME COMMON SENSE!!
*HUG*
hang in there!

I hear you!!! I am a single mom too. As soon as you clean something up, they mess it up again!!! It is frustrating. My oldest has taken to do the dishes, she is 8. She will do about half of them and then say she is done. LOL!!!! But, at least she is helping. My youngest is starting to help pick up sometimes now too, but it is sporadic.

This always springs to mind the old saying A Mothers Job is Never Done.

I"m a stay at home mom with 3 kids only one is in school the other two are ages 3 & 2 and it seems like my house is never clean . i clean one room move to the next and then bam the one i just cleaned looks like i never entered it, and their room oh dont even attempt to make your way through it . I like my house to be nice and clean and it was somewhat easier when i just had one but with more than that i cant seem to keep it clean. My 8 yr old i get her to help out some but i always have to nag and check to make sure she did it right it just causes even more of a headache.
