have you tried to put it in a regular cup? Neither of my girls would drink anything from a sippy cup, so I helped them drink out of a regular plastic cup.. they rarely made any spills :)

I think Hershey make a juice box type of thing that is chocolate milk. You can find it where in the stores with the juice boxes.

You might try buy a regular cup that has a lid but theres a place where you insert a straw and see if that helps.

I think you should stop the juice from the cup until she decides that milk is ok to drink. I don't know of any child that would rather have milk over juice, so she's sort of playing you. She'll drink milk when she gets thirsty. My kids tried this, and they decided milk was ok afterall. Go figure.

My youngest son was the same way. I just kept offering him milk in it until he finally took it. I wouldn't give him anything else in it beside his milk either. He finally caught on and he is going to be 4 in less than 2 months and still wants his sippy cup of milk in the mornings. lol

I'm kinda going through the same thing with my 11 month old except she will drink anything in her sippy but not her baby formula. She will however drink regular milk but I'm not supposed to give her any until she's 12 months old because we think she may be allergic.

2 years old is old enough for her to be drinking out of a regular cup.

IMHO, juice and chocolate milk have too much sugar for a 2 year old. Especially the chocolate milk. Adding chocolate to her milk to get her to drink it is kinda counterproductive.

ITA. I did not start giving my kids any kind of juice until they were 2. It was all B. Milk, Milk and h2o. Nothing else. They ahve the rest of their lives to eat junk. Calcium doesn't just come from Milk, you can get it from different friuts and veggies as well as yogert. My DD didn't like Milk...and the strange conicidence is that she had exczema as well...it was like her body told her that she didnt need it. I wouldn't force it....You can replace it with other foods. Just offer water and maybe even a chewable vitamin.

I agree about not forcing the milk. My uncle's girlfriend is a nurse and she said that milk is actually bad for you. She has a book on it and had read some of it to us. I know a lot of people will disagree and that's okay. :) The calcium is important but as you said there are a lot of other things that contain calcium. I don't like milk and never drank it as a kid. My brothers were big milk drinkers but the only time I ever have milk is in my cereal and even then I only use enough to moisten it. lol

My 4 year old prefers milk over any other drink. We go through a gallon entirely too fast. The almost 3 year old, however, always wants apple juice.

cows milk is for cows, not people, so after weaning age, there is no real need to drink it. you can get your calcium from green veggies. If you are having any doubts, give her a multi-vitamin. A lot of kids hate milk. I was allergic to it, & at the time there was no such thing as lact-taid or soy milk, so I just drank juice & water, & I am none the worse for wear.

That's exactly what my uncle's girlfriend said. I wish I knew the name of the book she had. Cows milk is also loaded with hormones that are not good for you. That was one other thing that I can remember her saying.

Well cows milk may be for baby cows but they also process it and sell in jugs for humans. Why is everyone so down on people giving their kids milk? I just don't get it. lol

We go through 4 and sometimes 5 gallon of milk a week around here. Well not so much now that DH is on a diet and can't have it but our kids still drink it a lot. They have it with breakfast and with some lunch and supper too. I would rather give my kids milk than some kind of pop that is loaded with sugar.

When I was growing up we never had milk. If you wanted cereal then you got it with cream & water so now I always make sure my kids have milk. I guess it all just depends on how you were raised.

We go through a ton of milk here too. Milk for cereal, milk for milkshakes, milk for oreos, milk for mac and cheese, milk for biscuits, milk for pudding, milk for mashed taters....the list goes on and on:D
I think maybe I should just buy a cow

Just for the record, I was raised on milk, as was my hubby and we turned out just fine.

Maybe try milk in a regular cup with a straw....OOH or how about in a small sports type bottle? Good luck, amazing that kids so young can outsmart us so easily :o

I am not saying that it will hurt you, but we do not HAVE to have it; like the industry makes us think we do. If your kids like, all well & good. But, if they are not drinking skim milk, it has a lot of fat in it....remember, thats where butter comes from?

My son is 26 months and wont drink Milk at all. I have tried Every Brand, Flavor, Soy, Rice you name it. He wants nothing to do with it, Sippy Cup or Regular Cup, Nothing. I make sure that he gets lots of Cheese, Yogurt and Veggies.
