Alton Freecycle

My request to become part of this group has been denied every 14 days for the past 4 times ive requested to join, because the person who is supposed to approve the memberships has not approved it yet... Is this person even checking their emails? Thats 8 weeks worth of requests to join, obviously I really want to join this group! :confused: Its not like im complaining because they didnt approve it overnight, im not that impatient, but comon! anyway, petty vent I know, but wanted to get it out.
:( Ty to those that have tried to help me become a part of this group, although it hasnt helped I still appreciate the hand.

Check out http://www.freecycle.org to see if that group is listed under your state.

I checked Missouri and Illinois, and if either of those are your state Alton is not listed. It very well could be an abandoned group. Unfortunately until Freecycle is on a dedicated server there is nothing that can be done about abandoned groups as Yahoo will not shut them down.

If the group was less than 3 months old, than it could have been still waiting to be listed, but both Alton Freecycle groups that I found listed were opening in 2003 with very few members and very little activity.

I hope that I have been able to help in some way.

i hope you get accepted soon.. thats madness that you actually have to be approved.. do we all??? lol i just signed up and was able to see the list immediately. Good luck!
