Went through my local McDonalds drive-thru and ordered both of my daughters a mighty kids meal with chicken nuggets. We came home and my girls were in the kitchen and I was on the phone. When I got off the phone I asked my girls how were their nuggets, one of my girls told me she threw hers away because she found a fingernail on a nugget. I found the nail and it definitely wasn't one of my daughters.
What should I do? I have e-mailed their corporate offices and I have notified the department of health about it. What would you guys do? My daughter is extremely upset, she's only 6.
Thanks.
UPDATE: Received a call from the regional manager and she apologized a lot. Then she asked me if I wanted to receive a full refund or 3 more meals free. I told her I wanted the full refund because dd never wants to go back to a McDonalds. So I went in yesterday and recieved a full refund for all 3 meals!!

You should call the McD's you got it from and get your money back and go from there.

I would get my money back for sure. That is really gross. They probably will be crappy with you though. Since you left the property they will probably accuse you of putting it there just from paying your money back. Good luck I hope that they do the right thing. I would also keep emailing the corporate office until they get back with you.

i used to be a manager at mc's........call them IMMEDIATLY and tell them what happened, and that you have already called headquarters, and health dept. also, and this may sound gross, photograph it as proof. they may want to keep it when you go back there.....this will be your proof it happened.
im pretty sure mc's new policy is to be wearing gloves when handling food...that went into effect sometime last year.

Accidents happen but if they were suppose to be wearing gloves then this is totally unacceptable, actually either way its unacceptable. How do you break a nail and not know it???? Geez...I wish you luck.

Yep, I would take a pic, call the store where you bought it at and let them know what happened and tell them you want a full refund. That's just nasty! If they get ugly about it I would keep going above their heads until someone seen my side of things. lol Good luck and keep us posted!

I have to say we are much healthier now we avoid Nasty Mickey Ds....
My son used to get sick from the oil they used in the nuggets. (ugh)
Good luck getting someone to listen to you.

I like the nuggets since they went to all white meat. I used to never get them. I have worked in food service for 5 years and that is totally unacceptable. The worker should have had gloves on. I would call the local McDonald's where I purchased it from and get my money back. Also, the health dept needs to be notified so they can get in there and do a surprise "check" on how things are being done such as washing hands, wearing gloves, and other basic things that need to meet code. Good luck!

I have emailed the company before, for bad food, and they had sent me back a letter of apology, and a gift certificate for 2 free meals.

UPDATE: The health department e-mailed me and said:
Mrs. Perez,
I appreciate you informing us of the problem you encountered at one of our local restaurants. One of our Environmental Health Specialists will be making a visit to the site to discuss this problem with the McDonalds manager. If you have any further questions you may contact me at 686-4920.

McDonalds' corporate office has yet to respond to my complaints. I will keep all of you informed of what happens. My daughter never wants to go back to McDonalds, can ya blame her?
