I was trying to get the dishes done so I could get on to other things that needed to be done around here. Well I guess I shouldn't have been hurrying so much because when I was washing a glass, somehow it shattered and cut my little finger wide open all the way to the bone. I didn't think it was that bad at first. I thought that it just looked like a lot of blood because it was in the water, until I looked at. I seen how bad it was and had to ask dh to take me to the hospital to get stitches put in. The funny thing is it didn't hurt until after I had been at the hospital a little bit. Then it started stinging. So now I have 5 stitches in my little finger and its on my right hand which makes it even worse since I'm right handed. Grrrrrr! How could I be so stupid?!?! Now today it is throbbing pretty good and tylenol is doing nothing for the pain. I told dh that's what I get for doing dishes. lol So for the next 10 days, no dishes for me! lol I just needed to whine a little. :o

Ouch is right. I know that hurt. Maybe time to talk DH into a dishwasher..lol. My oldest just had stiches a month or so ago, he was holding a pepperoni roll in his hand and was cutting itin half and went right into his hand, between his thumb and forefinger. He didn't even cry. Had it been me I would have bawled like a baby. I almost cried when I read that you got cut. Hands are the worst things in the world to injure IMO..keep it dry and take care, sorry the tylenol isn't helping.

Ouch, now my finger hurts, lol. Way to go on getting out of dish duty, but I wish it could have been a less invasive way, LOL!

Thanks everyone. Well for the next couple of weeks my 11 year old son said that he will do the dishes for me. ;) He's a sweetheart and helps out whenever I ask him so I know he'll follow through for me. DH was joking around last night and said " I suppose now you want a dishwasher. You could've just said something you didn't have to go this far!" Silly man!! I took some advil and its a little better, still hurting but its not as bad. I'm going to take it easy for awhile before I attempt to clean the house later on. ;) My little brother took the boys for awhile to give me a break and the girls are playing quietly (Big surprise!!) so I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts! LOL :D

I did the exact thing a few years ago only it was the top of my thumb. 7 stitches. The doctor we went to was our small town doc and he just met us at the office, thing is he had his hand bandaged up from sticking it in the lawn mower  hubby had to help sew me up. You are braver than me, I never could look at it, just plunged my hand back in the water and yelled for hubby. We now hace only plastic cups :o It took a few years for me to get alot of feeling back and still not all the way normal now but I cut nerves as well. Hope you feel better!

Ouch!!!!
When I was 5 or 6 years old, I cut my left thumb and it hurt so bad. The cut was about 1 1/2 inches long and probably almost half an inch deep. I still have the mark from that cut, it formed a small canal ridge curve line. :(
