It's thunderstorming, walking down our BUSY road is "Lilly" (I think LOL that's what her collar says)a sweet old shepherd-mix looking dog (hard to tell exactly she's soaked), there's a phone number & "Lilly" on her collar. Called the number, got voice mail..I can't tell if it's a cell phone or not. I tried http://www.anywho.com/rl.html got no results..help...she has a new license but no other tags

I use reverse number directory (http://www.reversephonedirectory.com/) when I have the phone number and want to find the address and/or name. Hope it helps and good luck with "Lilly". Hopefully you can get her home soon!

Well shoot, I was hoping that you would be able to find her home. Wish I could be more help. :( Hopefully her owner will return your call real soon.
My dog ran away once and I was going crazy trying to find her. She came strolling back into the yard about an hour later like nothing happened. I was so glad to see her!! :o Hopefully Lilly's owners feel the same way about her.

My dad found a husky mix in his yard yesterday and called the police department to see if anyone had reported her missing. The officer came over and read off her tag number to the dispatcher, who then called the vets office and they traced the owner that way. I live in a very small town though so that may have been why they could do it that way. I don't know. Good luck finding her owner.

The cell phone can probably recive text messages (and through AT&T, it is usually no charge)....

Go here:

http://www.mobile.att.net/messagecenter/

type in phone number, and short message (like Lilly is at my house.... and give address and phone number). Hit send message....

I wish they were like that here, last time I had a "stray" was a cat (don't know if it had a collar or not BUT) animal control didn't even try to find it's owner & gave it 24hrs & then put it down..that w/ other things I'm leary of calling them just yet..gonna try my vet, maybe he'll know her.

just updating, she's home, her owner called right when I got to work, seems she traveled a bit & is terrified of storms, busted out of a window
