well thankfully no one here knows me by my first and last name... lol... :D :p
but lately my underarm odor has gotten worse! so has my amount of sweat.

i have used secret in the past and it was the only thing that worked for me... now it stopped working... :(

is it me or the antipersperant? am i getting older and smellier?
or did proctor and gamble play with the secret formula?

i wax my armpits to keep the odor down to no avail.... :(

any advice, consumer report articles, and personal experience greatly appreciated....

Try using Certain Dri for the sweatiness. It shrinks the sweat glands or something like that.

As I've gotten older, I have found that I do sweat more and the odor is stronger. I've also found that I have to switch deoderants every couple of years. For some reason they cease to be as effective for me after I've used them for a while..

Changing deoderants seems to solve the problem.

No longer smelly in California... :D

It could be from the foods you are eating. Garlic will really make you smelly. Try to go to the doctor, if not, you can buy some medicine calledDrusol online, or the doctor can prescribe it to you.

Hehe, it's funny the things we will post for everyone to see, when nobody knows who we are! :) So here goes - I have the same problem! I will be 25 in 2 days, and I guess I started having problems about 2 years ago. Before that, I used teen spirit (love the scents), or lady speed stick, and never had a problem. But now, it's almost like I didn't put any on if I use those! The best I have found so far is Secret Platinum(sp?), in the soft solid. But I would appreciate any new ideas also.

I would go for age and diet. Try cutting sugar out of your diet for a while as well...watch how much fatty foods and pop you drink...I know, it is nuts!! AAlso, if it is really bad after that, go see the DR. Not all underarm deoderants are safe, and waxing won't do anything about the smell....

the best deoderent to use is TUSSY, it has alumanum clorhydrate that will stop the oder and sweat, or better yet use arm & hammer baking soda as a replacement for deoderent, for about two weeks and then go back to your regular deoderent. i take all different kinds of meds and they wreck havick with the under arm problem.

I know this will sound crazy but put vinegar on...it will stink like crazy till it dries then you can't smell it...then I guess you could use deoderant after it dries..I had an ex that wore vinegar, and it worked for real...its suppose to be more natural and keeps the lymph nodes from getting something or other..lol..

Certain Dri is very good you only have to use it at bedtime and it does shrink your pores. I love it and have noticed a considerable difference. For me I felt very uncomfortable with sweaty armpits. And with Certain Dri if it does not give you results in 30 days it has a MONEY BACK guarantee - just hang on to your receipt. HTH and good luck.

I had the same problem when I was about the age- I went to GNC and bought chorphyll (spelling?) and it really helped. It'll probably take a couple of months to get in your system but I swear by it.

Make sure you are using and antiperspirant/deodorant. I made that mistake once.....thinking all I needed was a deodorant. Also, don't be afraid to apply it more than once a day. I know when I am in a humid climate and I don't have a chance to shower 10X a day (LOL) I will use the stuff at least twice a day. Someone told me once to apply after you shower, even if you shower before bedtime. This way the stuff has a chance to start working. Also, you can try a mans antiperspirant/deodorant. I used to use Mennens Musk. The holy grail it was!!!! Great scent and very effective. They discontinued the anti/deo. but, still make the musk in deodorant. Some of the mens scents are nice.

almost overnight i went from normal to smelly sweaty..
i used to be able to go a day or two with out using antipersperant.. now i am using secret almost 3 times in one day...
so it led me to think is it age or did SECRET change its formula..
last night i peroxided one armpit. it worked and took away the smell but by lunchtime today my pits smell the same.
today i used dh's antipersperant. it worked the same as it always has (i use dh's when i forget to pack mine) but i never used to be able to use anything but secret. nothing ever really worked as well as secret.
grrr.

tonight i will try the certain dri (walgreens 5.99)

wish me luck...

ps.. i am so amazed that so many women have the same problem as me... thank god you are all posting!!! i actually felt alone and weird... now because of yall i just feel weird... lol JK... Thanks for all of your help and advice ill keep you posted..

Like someone else said, diet has a lot to do with it. Drink lots of water, and it will flush your system. Takes care of most body odor, but for the benefit of those around you, I would still use commercial means too. :D

I also have it bad, but I read where to put neosporin before you put on your deodorart, but it does cost alot.

The first night I tried it, it only was stinging for a short time, but the next 2 nights I was so itchy all night long! I know you are only supposed to put very little on, otherwise it will sting. I put on an extra swipe and it irritated my skin, so I had to stop using it. Secret Platinum is working great, but if I'm still going to use the Certain Dri from time to time.

If you have a dollar store in your area look for the triple antibiotic cream its nearly the same thing if you buy the neosporin at the pharmacy ask them if they the same thing in their brand, which is always cheaper.

The one thing I can think of that might help is to buy the small portable container of baby wipes to keep in your purse and wipe down with them a few times a day and then re-apply deodorant.
