She is a really really good and gentle dog especially to my son who is 4 and my daughter who is 7 months. BUT....dh took her to the fire dept and she snapped at his friends daughter twice. shes 10, and this morning a neighbors kids knocked on the door who is also 10-11, and she snapped at them. IT was more of a warning bark type thing. But we aren't going to be able to keep her. There is too many kids around here for that. We've had her for almost 4 days and spent $100 on her and now this. Anyone have any ideas? I hate to get rid of her, but I don't want her to hurt anyone. We called the vet to see what kind of options we had and they said that she was most like abused by a 10 year old. On the 4th of July we had her at acook out at my at my parents and she was around a bunch of smaller children and loved it. She loved the attention.
I know we have alot of dog lovers here, what can I do aside from obedience training and keeping her in at all times??

That is the only thing I can think of is the obedience training to help her. Hope you figure out something for the puppy.

I was going to suggest obedience training also. Otherwise I'd post a note at the vets office bulletin board to try to sell her. Otherwise the newspaper. Sorry. I've had boxers before. They are beautiful, intelligent, but high energy and powerful. They are only kind and gentle if they've been treated that way basically from birth. Good luck :)

If she is only nipping at 10 year olds then most likely a child of that age has abused her at some point. About 10 years ago we had a border collie and she didn't like males at all. The woman that gave us the dog gave her to us because it didn't like her boyfriend at all. Well if it was me I would of been getting rid of the boyfriend. She was a beautiful dog but we ended up moving and couldn't take her with us so the lady that lived downstairs from us kept her.

Well, she's gone now. A guy at DH's work where she was found wanted her the other night also. So he called him and he and his wife wanted him and they had no children, at least smaller children. Dh asked hiim if he was going to breed her and said he probably would before they fixed her and he said we could have a puppy when they did. But I may try to find another one before then. Ive always wanted either a boxer or an Engish Bulldog. My son was upset and dh told him he could get another doggie. He understood about having to give her away, he said he didnt want his friends to get bit. And the people who took her said she would have her own room, lol, and ds liked that.
Just curious, does anyone know approx. prices of obedience training?
