MY nephew has to have MAJOR oral surgery on Wednesday. His jaws did not grow normally like the rest of his bones. Although you cannot tell by looking at him - he looks just like every other boy his age, he cannot open his mouth more than about an inch and a half. Makes it really hard to chew food. I am asking for good thoughts for him - best case is that they will only have to break his lower jaw, worse is that he will have to have both upper and lower jaws broken, reformed, and mouth wired shut for at least three months. This is major surgery - he will be admitted to the hospital and will have to stay at least a week, with a good three months recovery time. My sis and I are hoping that he will only have to have the bottom done - we will find out tomorrow. Another bad point is that he cannot tolerate anesthesia very well - when he had his tonsilsout, he was sick for a week. Please send some good vibes - thanks!
