Just wondering how everyone's doing? I really blew it a couple of weeks ago. I was at 22 lbs. lost, then went home to visit the family and gained 7 back in one week!!!! I was so mad at myself....anyway back to clean induction and lost 5 of the 7. I hate doing the hard work all over again...grr!

I have set up a new goal system to lose 5 lbs at a time by specified dates. If I meet them, I will have lost a total of 40 by my birthday.

How's everyone else progressing???

I am! 54 lbs down since 1/1 and slid my butt into a size 10 Ralph Lauren jeans yesterday!! :D Snug, so I'll stick w/ my comfy 12s for now.

I read the Atkins thread yesterday and sounds like everyone is doing great!!

Wow, Shancopp! That's great! It'll be a long time b/f this rear gets into a 10, but that's my goal...I am 5'7" and was a size 10 in college at 150 lbs. Ah, for those days! lol

I just wanna say that I have been following your posts here and at LCF very closely because you have been a great inspiration to me. Many times I have been soooo encouraged by you. You make me realize that I can do it too. Thanks for staying on the wagon! :D

Ahhh, Junebug! How sweet was that!! Thank you! Many folks on LCF are motivating for me also. Feel free to pop into the FEM challenge on LCF and say hi! We fast first Monday of each month for about 3 days. You don't have to fast, just say HI!

Good luck to you and I think doing the 5lb goals is a great idea. I have no idea how much you are wanting to lose, but looking ahead 75-90 lbs (as I did) could get a bit discouraging. Great job getting your "vacation" wt back off....it is amazing how quick it can come back when you fall off of plan with LC. That is knowledge enough for me to do everything I can to stay on plan. Though, if I went on vacation, that might be a different story!

Thanks again for your kind words!!
Shan

I was on the Atkins for awhile. I started in about June of last year and was pretty solid until Christmas time. I lost about 18 lbs or so. Problem is, I think I need someone to keep me motivated and honest.

I was at a low carb forum called "Active Low Carbers" or something like that, but I totally fell off the wagon. I've probably gained all of it back since the first of the year.

I am going back to Atkins after being on Sugar Busters for awhile. Sugar Busters is not working for me. I lose and gain the same 3-5 pounds over and over.

Clean Induction starts tomorrow!

I'm still going. I blew it this week, due to being at my parents house. On the bright side though, a week of chips, pizza, and sandwiches etc, and I didn't gain. Tomorrow is clean induction.

Hey Dback, I hit 55 today! ;) I'm doing Fat Fast today and possible 2 more days.

Katt....great job on no gain! Wow! Lucky duck!

Justin...good luck starting Atkins, I think you'll like it!

Texas...a yr! Great job! How much have you lost? Are you maintaining now?

20lbs to my original "goal", but I'm sure it is too high for my height. Thinking I may have to go down another 10 to 20lbs after that. Oh well, I can do it!

a few months ago I was on it and lost about 12 pounds in about a month. I have been off it for about 6 weeks and have kept 10 10 of those pounds off. Going back on today to try and get rid of the next 20lbs. and to try and lower my cholesterol...have my "I'm turning 40 checkup" at the end of August and if my cholesterol is still high I have to go on meds and I DO NOT want to do that...hoping it will come down with Atkins.

Tex, you look great already. Good luck on those last five though :D

Dcut, I know dback's cholesterol numbers went way down, and mine are a lot better than they used to be. Just make sure and don't use the frankenfoods, and don't do planned cheats, and it should help. I would be really afraid of using statin drugs too. My doc said fish oil capsules would help lower my LDL's and help raise my HDL's.

Katt,

What are frankenfoods? I have some fish oil, couldn't remember why I got them  will throw one of them in with the daily vitamins-thanks anything to avoid going on the drugs.

NP Tex ;) I speaketh, the truth :p.

Dcut, Frankanfoods are those that are premade. Like most of the new "carb friendly" foods. All these foods lure people into a false sense of security and instead of losing, many will gain. It's not that they aren't doing atkins right, it's with all those new foods, they aren't doing atkins at all really. I would just follow the specific foods allowed, stay away from bars and shakes unless you are in a tight spot and HAVE to have one, and you should do fine. There are so many fillers used in there that they are low carb, but not necessarily healthy.

oh man does that include the low carb chocolate bars? never mind I know the answer :( I have a few on hand so that instead of caving in and going off completly I can have one of these but am trying to limit it to those days when its a low carb candy bar or a whole freekin king size snickers

I don't think part of one, every once in a while, will hurt. I've been on since Oct, and I recently really upped my carb count, and I'm still holding steady and even losing. Even when I was losing 10-20 lbs a month, I would have a piece of sugar free candy every once in a while. Not a bunch, but like a piece every couple of days once a month type of deal.

Congrats to all of you that have stuck with it and lost the weight! I bet it feels great! ;)
I'd love to start on Atkins but honestly I have no idea where to even start. I have no support around me and I've been overweight for so long that I honestly don't know where to begin. I know what I eat isn't the greatest but I have no clue what I should be eating and such.
I'm proud of all of you that have stuck to it! I wish I could be telling people that I've lost like you all have!

mom2, just read over the other atkins thread here. It has a lot of the food lists and websites to check out. You could even just go to the atkins site to print out induction, then phase two and three foods. It really is so easy. I don't have anyone here doing it with me, and lately my DH has went carb nuts. I slip some, but still going strong. If you want any info or just someone to shoot the breeze with, you can pm me anytime. The lowcarb friends site is a great source of info too.

I am debating on puting up my progress pics for everyone to see, but I know I"ll be setting myself up to be made fun of and trolled lol. Been there and done that, and didn't like my picture being posted all over the web, but it just might be worth it if it helps anyone make the leap. ;)

Thank you very much Katt. I appreciate the help and the offer to chat. I just might take you up on that! lol I'm going to look over the other thread once the rugrats go to sleep. I'm thinking that this might just be what will work for me. I have to do something!

Thanks again, Katt. And I'm sure that you look GREAT! ;)
