We bought my DS a car a few weeks ago. He will be 16 in Sept. can't wait to drive by himself! LOL! You will not believe what we got him. It is a 1979 Pontiac Bonneville (so actually it is not a car but a tank! LOL). We got a deal! Only paid $1500 and this car is in almost mint condition. It has only 53,600 ORIGINAL miles (YES, I said original, actual, that is all, can you believe it!). I know the lady we bought it from very well, so I know that is right. The only thing "wrong" with the car is a spot of rust on the bumper about the size of two eggs, the passenger side mirror is stuck in place and can't move (but it is right where my son needs it so that is ok) and the headliner is coming down, but not torn or anything, so that is very easy to fix, also we had to replace the back breaks for it to pass inspection. They were the original breaks so I would have replaced them anyway. Other than those things the rest of the car is perfect. Not a spot on the carpet or seats, perfect paint, drives like a charm. I am excited on the deal we got! Here is link to picture of my DS with the car. As you will see, he is very happy with his car!

How exciting for him. We are shopping for a car for my brother. He will be 16 in August and is SO eager to drive. It sounds like you got a great deal and he looks like a happy guy!

Way cool :) He stands like he's the first guy on the block to have his own car. Looks like my son did with his first :D Such an exciting time for them. And the car looks really nice :)

And JKatherine, I actually owned a brand new 1986 Olds Cutlass Ciera convertible. One of the best cars I ever had :)

Nana,
It sure was a great car! It's still running too! I sold it to an older neighbor of mine from the neighborhood where I grew up (she's one of my best friends). She drives it everywhere and keeps good care of it. :)

Bonnevilles are GREAT cars. Im VERY jealous! I would trade every vehicle on the place(we have five, but only three run at this moment) for my 1990 Bonneville back(with a few improvements, of course)
