Ok, stupid question!
I had compuserve...HOW do I switch my email pref. on my computer. When I hit the "Email" button on Explorer, it goes to my old compuserve account. How can I change it to comcast?
THANK YOU!!!!

Do you still have your old Compuserve software installed? Go to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs and uninstall it. If you still have Compuserve set as your primary email account in Outlook Express or Outlook, Eudora, Pegasys, The Bat, Netscape, etc... you'll have to switch the role of primary to Comcast. How you do this depends on which email software you're using. Let me know which email program and which version of Windows you're running and I'll tell you how to switch it.
If it's just the difference of one being in Outlook Express and one being in Outlook, go to:
Control Panel | Internet Options | Programs and set the Email drop down to the email program you want it to use.

I changed that under control panel, although somewhere I remember adding my current email address. Whenever I click on a link to email someone, It still starts dialing up my compuserve. Do you think I should just get rid of it? I have windows XP.
Thank yoU!

I have a cable modem but my service provider set it all up for me. I didn't have to do anything. When I got the new computer all I had to do was plug the modem into the back of the tower and it started right up. Maybe if you call your service provider they can help.

I can't answer the question for you, but isn't cable just great!
We got the first of the year to support the laptops for DH & DS#1.
Works really fast!

 I have ME so I don't know if XP is the same but in order to determine what email I use when I click on a link to email, I open up tools in IE, then hit internet options, then go to programs and I can choose my email from the drop down menu there. HTH.
