well we set the date and decided where- we're getting married in August we are having a county western wedding at my future inlaws in Forestville NY (south eastern nys) We are looking for an officiant. We are unsure of who is leaglly able to perform the service other than clergy or jp.Can a retired judge perform? who are the others who are able

yes, a retired judge can officuate.

Thank you We weren't sure. Also I've been told that even a notory can do it but I haven't found anything to back that up

A notary can perform weddings as well.

A town mayor can also perform a wedding as well.

thank you you guys with everything thats going on now my brain has turned to mush not that it wasn't before seems like more and more days it's just not my turn to baby sit myself I need all the help I can get.
