He left us kids and mom 23 years ago and never saw him since. All i want is to see if there was a add or something in the obituaries or something. I was able to find his death record online . This really blow.. i am now 27 and never knew my father .. then one day.. HEY your father is dead.. I just want some peace knowing what he died from. If anyone has a clue where i can look please let me know.. Thanks alot.

If you go to www.thepaperboy.com you can get current issues of newspapers in many countries and states. Maybe from this site you can get a link to the paper you need. If you contact someone (the publisher/managing editor) they may be able to further help. Good luck...

Thank you for posting this... I've been trying to find my mothers for years. I think my grandmother still has some clippings but I don't have any... they had her listed too, spooked me, but it only gives her date of birth and death and last known city she lived in.

at that point you would have to either go to the library where she lived and look up the newspaper ob ituary and then print it out.. or contact the local newspaper for the obit..

glad to help!!!

I live in Eastern KY, but Im not sure if Fayette County is included in our paper, but our local paper is www.dailyindependent.com I hope this helps you. They have a search on there, but not sure how far it goes back.

still looking but....

ok, through the SSDI and all my geneology sites the only one i can find with your fathers name died in 1985 (same first/middle/last name),in NY. Grandfather maybe?? . since you have the death Cert. #, i'd send to the KY dept of vital records to get a copy of his death certificate, that will give you cause of death along with his parents names and lots of other info.

Unless a site has an arrangement with the publishing paper, many will only print abstracts (name, date, location) to preserve copyrights.

It looks like the Courier-Journal http://www.courier-journal.com is the paper for Fayette county, they only keep obits online for a year, but I founf this in their FAQ Q. How do I get a copy of a very old obituary?
A. Call (502) 582-4545

If that doesn't help, you might also try Random acts of genealogical kindness. They have volunteers who do local look-ups for people. You can make a request from their web site http://www.raogk.org/

USGenWeb also has an obituary project. The Ky page is here http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/obits/obitsky.htm

Call the library they can do a search for you. When my brother was turning 50 I called and gave them the info and the lady did a search for me I was looking for his birth annoucement and what was on the front page of the news paper.
She just said wait a couple hours and call back. I did and she had it she evan mailed it to me that same day.
If the was something in the paper and you have the information it shouldn't be hard. From there you would learn where his funeral was at and could then call and see where he was buried at. Good luck.
