A guy that I work with said that his Grandma told him that you can't eat bananas and fish together.

Yeah, that's what I thought too, why would you want to???? But he said he was bringing a tuna sandwich for lunch and he was grabbing a banana to bring with it and his grandma said you can't eat that together. He didn't ask why but she has told him that all his life. Makes no sense whatsoever to me. Maybe an old wive's tale?

Now there are ALOT of wives tales that my grandmother and mother have passed down (or lectured) but I have never heard of this one.

Grandma is sort of right, it actually "No Banana's on a Fishing Boat", its not eating them together

NO BANANAS !

It may be an old wives tale, but it's a fact that bananas are Bad Luck on a fishing boat. History tells us that this tale originated from early years when boats with Bananas in the cargo ran aground, got lost at sea, or lost many of their crew members to a deadly sickness. Further investigation indicated that the bananas were prone carry to the deadly tarantula spider!

So if you are out to catch fish, you better leave your bananas at home...
