I don't eat baked beans, but I got this in the mail yesterday and thought I'd share it. The recipe is for Tropical Bakes Beans, and is shown with coconut shrimp.
Tropical Baked Beans: Portion Size: 4 oz.
Ingredient: 10 Servings:
Allens Baked Beans* 2 lbs, 4 oz.
Fruit cocktail, drained 2 cups
Mango chutney, chopped 1 cup
Mandarin oranges, drained 1 cup
Cider vinegar 1/4 cup
Allspice, ground 1 tspn.
Crushed red pepper 1/2 tspn.
Almonds, slivered 1 cup
Coconut, toasted 1 cup
Method:
1. Combine baked beans with next six ingredients in large metal bowl. Mix well.
2. Transfer mixture to 2-inch deep full or half size hotel pan(s) prepped with non-stick spray.
3. Bake in 375 F conventional oven (325 F convection) for about 45 minutes.
4. Sprinkle almonds and coconut over the top. Bake 15 minutes more.
*Each #10 can of Allens Baked Beans yields approximately 7lbs. 3oz.
Allens baked beans are seasoned with allspice, then combined with a trio of tropical fruits, coconut and almonds. The delightful flavor of these Tropical Baked Beans complement any roasted or grilled meat or poultry, and will become a favorite side dish for grilled or deep-fried shrimp and seafood entrees.
