I keep getting an abnormal program termination popup. Then when I click ok, it kicks me off the internet. It's getting really frustrating.

Sounds like the sasser worm.

To check and see if you have it go here (http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/sasser.asp) and scroll about 3/4 down the page to where it says "check my pc for infection" only takes a few seconds.

If you have it and have Windows XP click here (http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/sasser_printxp.asp) for instuctions on how to get rid of it.

If you have windows 2000 click here (http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/sasser_print2000.asp) for instuctions.

Hope those links work.

I use the Ad Aware free version and it's great. The Sasser virus fix is also free.

Did you find the free adaware. On the first page, left hand side click "adaware". On the next page top right hand side click "CNET download.

Do these pop up have a grayish color surround. I know its an odd question, friend had this problem, and for the life of me i can't recall exactly how we stopped them. I do know it wasn't a spyware removal tool. Had to go into pc, and do some sort of change.

someone else originally posted this a while back, but I run this every day as well. Just click on it and if a pop up box says to download something hit ok (I do it every day and never had a problem :)):
